The Aeris scene definitely choked me up.Epitome said:Twice during FF7 but I was young, once when the plate fell and we lost Biggs, Wdge and Jesse and of course Aeris Death scene. I dont cry anymore at games but I have been choked up at times.
See? Everyone has the same story...Grey_Focks said:this. no game has made me come closer to tears...except "Demon's Souls", but that's for a whole different reason.Korten12 said:almost at the ending of MGS3.
I've never cried at a game, surprising because I find good movies often make me cry (Drew Barrymore at the end of E.T., gets me every time, dammit). Good music even makes me cry (Nessun Dorma - especially when Pavarotti [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOfC9LfR3PI] sings it). But video games... I've always considered frustration to be the video games equivalent of emotionality, maybe because I get very VERY pissed off at video games. The high you feel once you relieve that tension can be incredible, which is why difficult games are so great. If video games ever lose touch with this aspect it'll be a sad day.Lauren Admire said:I honestly can't recall a moment when videogames have made me cry. They've made me frustrated, angry, scared, and maybe the tiniest bit emotional - but I've never cried. Have you?
I'm curious as to what caused to to cry in horror at Tales of the Abyss. didn't feel anything remotely like that though I was sad at the end over Luke's decision. Only briefly though.NeutralDrow said:Other than that...actually yes. The Tales series has managed a couple of times. Granted, one of those was crying in sheer horror (Tales of the Abyss).
On topic...I agree with the article quite strongly. If the game affects you well enough to start the waterworks, the game has definitely succeeded.
