I just wish that we as a community, both users and mods appreciated the turbulent road we have endured on this site that has managed to not completely die, which I think is impressive. I just wish there was some more transparency on this site.Gethsemani said:I am pretty sure that Enthusiast Gaming is in charge, seeing as how they own the Escapist. By extension, whoever they chose to be moderators are the moderators. Lastly, calling them something as derogatory as shadow council of invisible overlords seems ill advised on a forum where they, literally, have total control.
Sure, since sometimes the current list in the CoC isn't up to date. Flaunt it while you got it, bby.Elfgore said:Does being a former mod count?
Russ left the Escapist as Editor like....two or three months ago (there was a big ol thread about it that I can't find and I give up easily so I never found it).Saelune said:I just wish that we as a community, both users and mods appreciated the turbulent road we have endured on this site that has managed to not completely die, which I think is impressive. Like, whats going on with Russ? Whats Kyle been up to? Are they still working on fixing things? I have no idea. We need wellness updates or something. I wouldn't still be here if I didn't want this site to keep surviving.
The Mod list I linked to will always be correct as it is tied to the Escapist system (or at least for the time being it is still tied to the Escapist system).Leg End said:Sure, since sometimes the current list in the CoC isn't up to date. Flaunt it while you got it, bby.
Yes you are a Mod (don't tell anyone).Baffle2 said:Am I a mod? Would I know if I was? It's all very shadowy!
I mean, this really highlights my point though.tippy2k2 said:Russ left the Escapist as Editor like....two or three months ago (there was a big ol thread about it that I can't find and I give up easily so I never found it).Saelune said:I just wish that we as a community, both users and mods appreciated the turbulent road we have endured on this site that has managed to not completely die, which I think is impressive. This fella [https://twitter.com/ajohnagnello] is the current Editor, though what exactly that means right now I'm not sure.
It used to feel like mods were part of the community. The mods got involved with discussions often, and I liked that. Used to also be announcements and stuff when mods came and went, but not anymore. Plus who knows what mods are active/inactive but not formally removed from the system. I occasionally see Jojo, Redlin and rarer occasions Topaz, but honestly, I thought Fiz had stepped down. Never see NewClassic, and Fappy is once in a blue moon. Basement Cat also seems to have become immensely less active than they used to be.IceForce said:You trying to figure out which mod modded you?
This has practically never been the case. People are active in the community, and then they become mods and disappear from the face of the forum shortly after. Anyone else remember how much Lilani, or pookie101, or sky14kemea, or Elfgore, or Timelord posted before and after becoming mods?Saelune said:It used to feel like mods were part of the community. The implication that you're not supposed to attack them makes killing them all the more fun!Silentpony said:I'm pretty sure I'm just one of those high-level NPCs, like a shop keep who you're not meant to attack.
So thats the Mods, now who are the Rockers?tippy2k2 said:https://v1.escapistmagazine.com/forums/codeofconduct

That's... not at all how a forum works. And never has been.Saelune said:I really have little power in that regard. I think the users have endured more than enough to deserve some influence in our collective fates.
I mean, if you paid for access to it then it might be. But I do not think that is the case and I do not think a forum of that nature would last very long.Squilookle said:That's... not at all how a forum works. Thems true, but remember early WOW when like the Orgrimar weaponsmith was lvl99 and the cap was lvl60? So like the innkeeper was basically a raid boss in their own right? That's me. Not an important plot character, but one of those ones always there and you're not getting rid of meDrathnoxis said:The implication that you're not supposed to attack them makes killing them all the more fun!Silentpony said:I'm pretty sure I'm just one of those high-level NPCs, like a shop keep who you're not meant to attack.
