What do you mean with right and left wing exactly?
Well, those words don't mean anything exactly, they only mean things vaguely. So, from someone who most people would regard as left wing: in general left means wanting better protections for workers, supporting the rights of women, religious and racial minorities, LGBTQIA people, etc, decriminalising certain drugs, police acountability.

Right means wanting freedom for corporations and low taxes so that those who own property can do what they like with it and the people who depend on it, wanting less immigration, wanting though policing. Moderate rightwingers often nominally support the rights of women, minorities etc too but don't believe much needs to be done in that regard.

On the issue of trans people the leftwing positions include that they exist, that that's fine, that once you transition you can become another gender, that they face a lot of discrimination and violence and that that's bad, that public bathrooms should be genderneutral so that people are less likely to beat trans people up for using the wrong bathroom etc. More rightwing people tend to deny some or all of these things.

Some of the conversation here has turned to a talking point amongst certain rightwingers that they have funnier memes and leftwingers disagreeing with that. If that sounds like a discussion with bizarrely low stakes to you and something you wouldn't really care about, bravo, you have basic common sense.
Thank you for your explaination.
Umm, I didn't expected that it will turn like this. That all.
As I said, I don't even knew that I posted was a part of a joke meme...

Just because you don't get it doens't mean it wasn't funny. In fact, repetition can enhance the comedy.
You know who else laughs at the same unfunny jokes over and over again?

Literal babies.

Now, I know that with their thick skins and proven reputation for having a great sense of humour, right wingers would never react badly to being compared to literal babies. After all, they're not the kind of snowflakes who take offence over joking insinuations that they lack the basic mental capacity to function as adults (and instead spend their time becoming very upset because the new She-Ra doesn't make their dicks hard). But just in case, let's add some discussion value in case the sheer ribaldry is somehow lost in translation.

Everyone "gets it". These jokes are not hard to get, just like me saying that right wingers are literal babies who need feminism because it functions as an excuse for why their childish ideas about masculinity haven't made them happy. If that's not funny to you, it's not because the joke is hard to get, it's because the joke is literally just an insult vaguely framed as a joke. What's "funny" (but not really funny) about repeating the same joke over and over again (like that right wingers are literal babies, and this probably explains why they tend to be really into child porn and justifying paedophilia because at least then they can fantasise that someone might want to fuck them) is the idea that someone else is hurt, or that someone has been put in their place.

Laughter can be an expression of genuine joy or relief. Jokes in general tend to revolve around the buildup and release of tension, such as setting up a preposition and then subverting it, because for some reason humans find this inherently pleasant. But laughter can also function socially as a self-conscious tool to humiliate others. It doesn't need a joke. If someone thinks you're laughing at them, then that automatically makes them self-conscious even if you're laughing at nothing.

The attack helicopter joke isn't hard to get. Neither is it actually funny. Any actual comedic impact it might have had was burned out years ago, because all joking aside the right are not literal babies and grow bored of jokes just like everyone else. The purpose of repeating it now is to try and convince trans people that you think it is funny, that you are still laughing at it despite the fact it's old, and tired, and frankly boring to everyone. Like most right wing attempts at humour, it's a joke that exists merely to try convince people that they are the butt of someone else's joke. Because if you can get people to worry about that, maybe they won't stop and ask why a bunch of literal babies are any kind of authority on who deserves to be laughed it..

From his perspective, that description might fit his perceived version of right & left. But not mine.
At least not for the rightwing. Left is pretty spot on, but neglects to mention the authoritarian bent.
The left wants thought police, not the right. You can't be Politically inCorrect in a left-dominated space for example.
Just try going on any "feminist/LGBTQ+" space and play devils advocate or disagree with the majority.
Jokes and humor is another divisive point, which you so aptly experienced for yourself.

The right used to be about corporations and religion (christians at least), but that battle was lost a long time ago.
Nowadays it's more about individuality, against leftists collective community where a person is expected to subsume entirely to the majority will without question. Less immigration is true. Some extreme rights even want none.
Western rightwings wants to conserve western values of Freedoms and a heavy influx of refugees, migrants and asylum-seekers & economic migrants with a diametrically opposing culture risk toppling a country where majority votes matters.

I'm leaning heavily left in most progressive talking points, but not when it comes to erasing the self and our hard fought for Freedoms and Rights.

Can I just be neither left, right, middle and be outside of this "field".

I don't overthinking it. I just love different kind of games. Offensive or not. Good ones of course for my personal taste I must add.

What I'm wondering is how the hell helicopters of all things got dragged into this in the first place? Is it because their appearance and near-unlimited mobility lend themselves to being seen as an ultimate trolling apparatus or something?
Because they are ultimate killing machines?
Like an Apache or a Blackhawk? Or no....like Airwolf? Yes, that I could see. Which reminds me, I really gotta rewatch those. I think it would?ve been cool if they put KITT into Airwolf, because why not?
Don't forget Blue Thunder.
I really have to revisit that as it?s been so long and have probably only seen it once.

You can, of course. I'm not one to begrudge you that, nor should I be.
If you really don't care, (and don't vote), then you would have to live with the consequences of not deciding your rulers though. And politics has a tendency to affect everything.
But yes, you can, and should be able to. I just don't understand it. ^^

Good games are always good. That's what makes them good. Goodie.
I like the good game of Dating Helicopters. Seems hilarious.

Ah, so this is the Right's fabled meming ability..
As someone who identifies as neither Right nor Left I have to say the Right definitely has a sense of humor the Left sorely lacks.
You say that like its a bad thing. That 'sense of humor' they are so proud of is called a bigoted lacking of empathy.
The right wing's idea of "humor" hasn't even got a smidgen of edge or cleverness to it.

ANYTHING can be made funny. Anything. I find no topic off limits for joking about, but when you go for something like sexual abuse, racial humor, holocaust, anything that touchy, you better have a master's touch to make it funny.

The right's idea of humor is just yelling slurs into a crowd then getting upset when people react badly to it.

Given all the emphasis you put in your post, I'm pretty sure you just violated CoC, because of the implication of who you're directing those words at. If saying Mario is gay is an infraction, how do you think saying a group you think I belong to is infantile would go with the "don't be a jerk" rule?

But to respond, humor comes from expectancy violation, and saying an attack helicopter is a gender (lefties have defended mayo as a gender) is certainly against expectations.

If you want to see an actual academic study on it, here's a video. It's long, part of a series, and I hardly expect you to sit through it, but here it is if you want to take a peek.

I said "can"

Also, just because you told it to the wrong audience, doesn't meant it wasn't a good joke. Enough generalities though. The attack helicopter joke does need some work, but it's more of a satiristic parody of the current cultural zeitgeist, so of course there's going to be a ton of people that take offense to it. That's the point, because satire and parody will highlight an idea's flaws. We did it making fun of God when the religious was in power, we can do it with anything that is in power.

I'm not sure who those are. It's been a while since I listened to Carlin, but I swear to god he was a staunch free speech advocate. He is responsible for the 7 words you can't say sketch, and I'm pretty sure that's all about having freedom to speak and offend. Anyone I follow on the "right wing" sphere (basically the name the media puts on anyone they don't like, IOW, libertarian leanings) is all about the free speech. Carlin is probably my favorite comedian of all time, and I'm sure you'd put me on the "right wing," correct?

Again, there's a type of person whose expectations can still be subverted by a joke they've already heard many, many times before..

Can you guess what kind of person that is? I'll give you a clue, your avatar thinks it's morally okay to fuck them.

Just to get the initial annoyance out of the way. Do you see the problem with this statement? Clue: I bolded it for you.

Also, can I ask.. how much of this video did you watch?

Like, don't get me wrong, it's bad, its logic is bad, its argument is bad, but it also doesn't support your point. In fact, it isn't even about anything you are saying. Fuck, much of the evidence it presents works against the point you're trying to make.

The video does not argue that repetitive humour is funny. In fact, completely the opposite. Repetition burns out the transgressive quality of a joke, making it stale and boring. Repetition in this sense is a form of "politically correct" humour (at least as far as I can tell under the limited definition of political correctness provided). It's saying things which you already know are safe because thousands of people before you have already said them.

Secondly, the video actually goes into a lot of detail on the specific conditions under which transgressive humour is funny, which is to do with distance. The more "real" something is, the less funny it becomes. When the goal of your joke is an explicit political platform, when it serves only as a straightforward statement to promote the idea that trans people are mentally ill, or that people should be thrown out of helicopters, that is not a joke that lends itself to distance. In the end, the joke is about you being offended. It's about you being offended that trans people exist. It's about you being offended that your sad, archaic idea of gender isn't real. None of that is funny.

Sure, "politically correct" humour may be bad, but your video can't even give a clear example of what "politically correct" humour is save "humour that is not transgressive" or "Amy Schumer".

Now, I don't know if you're familiar with, say, queer humour, but much of queer humour is almost inherently transgressive because it's created by and for people whose entire lives are taboo to a large section of the population. There's a reason why we have drag culture, why we have a system of etiquette built around insulting people. All of these things filter through into left-wing spaces, because queers are far more visible and vocal on the left. Heck, why do you think right-wing hets cling to Milo so hard they should rename themselves Father Michael. It's because he's the closest they'll ever get to what queer humour is like, just without the actual warmth and solidarity.

I mean, what else does the right have? Stale memes and death threats. Cool.

Uhm, maybe you never went to university so you don't know this, but youtube video's are not academic studies. Academic studies are published in writing in peer reviewed journals or sometimes (though not that often) in books or certain websites (peer reviewed). These studies are normally published by academics who normally work at universities. Mostly these studies are not seen by the general public because they are hidden behind paywalls and very hard to read for lay people.

As you tended to ask questions about Wynn from time to time, he recently made an account on Arnox' Sanctuary, if you have any further questions for him, I'm not sure as to how active he is there, though.

Games and media are getting weird, dating pigeons and doves, girls with jet engines as legs, dating literal attack helicopters.

You know, the funny thing is, I would never go to the Right for individualism. They are very collective in there aspirations. Specifically, white and westernised. Like, they're so collective that when they have to trot for a show and dance the few people who are from different races that are conservative. Subsuming to the majority? Anything outside what the Right think is traditonal is abhorrent and horrible. The Right loves to invade countries that don't agree with them.

I got an opportunity to work out in the country town for a year. Extra pay and benefits. Very conservative area. My boss had my neighbours looking at how I lived, specifically because they knew I had a girlfriend (who didn't follow me, and now we were in a long distance relationship.) After a visit from her, the boss came to see me to tell me how disappointed he was and that living in sin was bad. She was never to return. He then also tried to set me up with local women who were "good and proper." Because that's how conservatives think - women are tools to enforce their ideals

Also, if you're not quite understanding, when LGBT+ people fight hard, its because Freedom and Rights are being taken away from them. They are in the same boat as you. And they are doing exactly the same as you, protecting themselves from uncivilised influence who are coming to destory them (i.e. conservative Christains.)

Lastly, the left and right seem hell bent on out PCing and Social Justicing each other. Have a thought on abortion? No, you're killing babies. Have a thought on Black Lives Matter? No, you're a racists. What about that guy kneeling? Absolute traitor. And work? Men are either oppessors or oppessors in waiting. I take no pride in a greatly inaccuate claims like all men are rapists. But that what I have to deal with if I want Rights and Freedoms. Because no side it perfect. But, as a white guy, the Right doesnt have any interest in my Rights or Freedoms.

As I said, I don't even knew that I posted was a part of a joke meme...
Did similar mistakes when i started posting on English language hobby forums.

See, because the US is so big, it tends to become the frame of referrence for everything. Everyone is assumed to know the stuff going on there.

And US politics is ... let's just say 'polarized' feels too weak a word for it. You have two US bades sides fihting each other wherever they met. And while people on both sides still share hobbies, well, you will have to expect toxic spillover of those fights in international hobby communities.

I don't know where you are based and what your native language is, but another advice : Learn English swear words, what they mean and how (un-)appropriate they are. That is something school-English never covers and could you get in even more trouble than stupid memes about helicopters.
