Capcom Reveals Street Fighter Cast

Street Fighter [http://www.capcom.com/]movie.

This time, the movie will revolve around Chinese thunder-thighs Street Fighter IV [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chun_Li], the latest addition to the franchise, will be released in Japanese arcades this summer.

The original Street Fighter movie cast Raul Julia [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000241/], who died of a stroke days before its release and was thus able to avoid taking any direct blame for the thing.

Street Fighter is being developed in conjunction with 20th Century Fox [http://www.imdb.com/company/co0036225/]. The movie is currently scheduled for a worldwide release in 2009.

Call my crazy, but making a movie out of a fighting game famous for character balance doesnt sound like a good idea to me.

Once again proving that the people who make these films are total morons. There's no point in making a Street Fighter movie if Ryu and Ken aren't the main characters. I have no idea which actors could play them properly in a live action film though.

We already know this is going to suck, the only real question is how much?
As much as your mothe... (Steady PR, steady)

I've always hated any game to movie except for Silent Hill (but I guess I never played the game and was more interested in its Cinematogrphy more then anything else). This one is going to suck hard. Why can't the producers learn a lesson from the first?

The question is, did the last movie give return on investment? If the answer is yet then queue another crappy movie.

According to ye olde IMDB, the original Street Fighter earned nearly $100 million worldwide against a production cost of $35 million. So while the movie was undeniably el stinkola, it wasn't a full-scale flop by any means.

Man.. why in the hell... I mean... You know what though.. What is REALLY funny about this is that you know you will probably all go see it. Just to satisfy morbid curiosity. We all knew that the first movie was going to suck, yet we have all seen it.
Just like every other movie based on a game..
Mortal Kombat, Doom, House of the Dead *shudder*

The sad part is that there are a shit-ton of games that have great plots and WOULD make good movies so long as they stuck to the actual game plot more or less.
How about a Darkwatch movie? KOTOR movie?(suprised that one isn't a fan flick by now.) Leisure Suit Larry? Leather Goddesses of Phobos? Hell, Zombies Ate My Neighbors would be better suited to a movie than S.F..
Actually... I would pay to see that one for sure..

Not me! I was too young and stupid to think Hollywood was into barrel-buggering. I actually thought? Street Fighter... The MOVIE? CAN THAT BE ANYTHING BUT AWESOME???!

Doom as quite good, Resident Evil was quite good, even Mortal Kombat was quite good.

Street Fighter though... Well, the animated film was good.

It can mildly work, if they actually play it honest to the game, and put a real good dose of CGI superpowers, and cut the cheese.
Still, most faithful adaptation [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIu3_FZgi6U].
