Captain America: The Winter Soldier Post-Credits Scene Details Leak Out

Details regarding Captain America: The Winter Soldier's post-credits scene has allegedly been leaked and two never-before-seen characters will make an appearance.

Earlier in the week, Marvel LaineyGossip, who allegedly managed to watch an early screening of the flick [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/131933-Captain-America-The-Winter-Soldier-Gets-Explosive-New-Trailer], The Winter Soldier's post-credits scene will introduce two major characters in The Avengers universe. Needless to say, we're delving into spoiler territory here, so keep that in mind before reading the info below.

But the thing that's probably going to leave people talking the most is the post-credits stinger. They're calling them "The Twins", the brother-sister team of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and they don't look like any Marvel heroes we've met to date. Having seen them, I am really sad for Fox and the X-Men...

Obviously, things like these should be taken as a rumor until we see it for ourselves. But considering the writer describes the film's plot in detail -- a little too much, I might add -- odds are this is the real deal. This is quite a cheeky move on Marvel's part given that Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past will also feature Quicksilver [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/131688-X-Men-Days-of-Future-Past-Reveals-New-Characters-and-Costumes?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=news] played by Evan Peters (America Horror Story).

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4, 2014 in North America.

Wait, how are they able to use those characters?

Was under the impression they couldn't because Fox still owned the rights?

As I understand it, they're allowed to use the characters as long as no mention is made of their powers being the product of mutations or Quicksilver being Magento's sprog. At least I think that's how it works. Frankly the sooner Marvel wrench the X-men license away from Fox, the better. Though First Class was pretty good, I've got a horrible sinking feeling about the new one the name of which I can't remember right now. Days of Future Past? Maze of Cornish Pasties? Something like that.

They're in the post credits scene. That's like saying Thanos featured in The Avengers, despite being on screen for maybe 3 seconds and saying literally nothing.

Interesting, I suppose this can work since if I recalled in the old comics, when the team were recuiting for new members, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch took the offer to be recuited. Granted they were first henchmen of Magneto and they left when he was defeated (I don't remember the exact details). The main thing was that neither the twin nor Magneto knew each other to be related at all. I cna guess maybe what happens is that the two of them get arrested and Stever offer them redemption if they joined him or something like that.
In saying so, did the recent Empire cover had shown Quicksiler already or maybe that was the future version of him?

ALL HAIL "The Winter Solider" (might wann fix that)

This is kinda funny... since I saw a while ago the Porn Parody of The Avengers for investigative purposes, obviously, and they had the Scarley Witch on it...

I don't believe this rumour. I can't believe that they have the rights to Quicksilver.

Quicksilver first appeared in an X-Men comic. This isn't a Sherlock Holmes affair where you can use the character as long as you ignore the associations he has with X-Men later, his character has always been defined in terms of the X-Men. His powers and his parentage are all X-Men related.

More than that, the things this rumour is using, his relationship with the Scarlet Witch, appeared in an X-Men comic. I'm sure Fox has this under wraps

Solid Snakes' older quadruplet clone. Created as an old man with the powers of ice to establish the seniority of information processing in the new world as the cold war ends.

They can use those characters, just cant mention "mutants" or xmen and xmen characters. I wonder what he meant about not looking like marvel heroes? Wonder if they are just wearing jeans and tshirt and the cap bumps into them?

It's been official for quite a while that the twins were going to be in Avengers 2. It's not a rumor.

I knew about the pair in Avengers 2 but Quicksilver is ALSO in X-Men? Are they going to call him that? Are either film going to change his powers? This is going to get confusing for NOT being apart of a huge continuity for once, especially for casual audiences. I mean wasn't Viper AKA Madam Hydra in The Wolverine? Some rights and choice are very random at this stage.

As for the teaser, if true, would make sense since we've had no indication of their presence in the film series yet.

And Wolverine first appeared in a Hulk comic, Thanos first appeared in Iron Man, and Spider-man first showed up in issue 15 of Amazing Fantasy.
But within a few months Quicksilver and his sister had left the entire X-men comic series and joined the Avengers, and stayed Avengers, for the next several decades with little contact with any X-men characters.
Quicksilver was NEVER defined by his relationship to the X-men. He never WAS an X-men member. Over 90% of his comic life has been spent as an Avenger, alongside his sister. In fact, it was well over 14 years AFTER he joined the Avengers that a story was told explaining he was even related to Magneto at all. And... he and his sister were disgusted by the revelation and avoided all contact with their father, more than they had before.

Comic fans know he's an Avenger, never an X-man. The Fantastic Four have spent more time with the X-men than he has (their son is a mutant).

They are going to have two different versions, yeah... but one is basically a cameo (X-men) and the other is a major character (Avengers 2). Joss Whedon has always stated he's a huge fan of "the twins", and Scarlet Witch his sister doesn't even show up in the new X-men film.

They'll have the same powers, played by two different actors, about a year apart. The deal is Avengers can't mention his dad Magneto and X-men can't mention the fact that he's an Avenger.

It's basically like how X-men had two different versions of Emma Frost in the Wolverine Origins and First Class and just expected you to roll with it.

Though, by all accounts, Fox threw in Quicksilver for no reason other than to get him out the door first (think Antz versus A Bug's Life) while Marvel is going to take the time to properly develop him and make him a major character.

Given what I've seen of Fox's X-men Quicksilver... yeah, ha, no. Marvel's version couldn't be any worse.

Wha...? I'm more excited about Days of Future Past than i've ever been about any of the past movies. Just based off of the trailer and the cast it looks spectacular imo. But then i've always loved xmen, it was the only comic i ever read when i was a kid.
