As I was enduring yet another round of the "cartoons just aren't what they used to be" conversations that we've all encountered on one side or the other at one point, a thought occurred that there should be some "Cartoon Hall of Fame" where the best cartoons of each decade would be memorialized forever as being a class above the rest. These should be cartoons that are still good beyond childhood and are worthy of a watch from anyone who might encounter them.

That said, who do you think should be in the introductory class if such a Hall of Fame were to be built? Personally, I induct the Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry right away, then bring in Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, and Teen Titans. Jetsons and Flintstones get in for being the first of their kind. But what do you think?

There are many cartoons that are worthy of being noted. I actually think maybe I will start a website sometime where shows can be periodically elected and voted into ranks. There are a large number of the golden age cartoons that aged really well Popeye, Superman, Betty Boop etc.
