Cartoon Network MMOG to Launch January 14

FusionFall is currently in a free preview state, but all that is set to change on launch day as the Turner-owned network announces its subscription model.

Far, far away from the subscription model [http://www.cityofheroes.com/] will be put into place.

To answer the question of whether or not the MMOG is worth the cash wouldn't exactly be fair (as I am far from its target demographic), I can say that FusionFall is surprisingly robust for an online title intended for a younger set. Impressive, even, as the entire affair runs directly in your web browser of choice (Safari, in my case). It's best to think of it as World of Warcraft lite set in the Cartoon Network universe of fanboy dreams, where Phantasy Star Online [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_10:_Alien_Force] series, as does the combat.

Starting a $5.95 a month, a subscription to FusionFall grants access to all-new areas, equipment, nanos and more, with a family plan granting four accounts for the price of $9.95.

Having been on the beta, I have to say that it is really good.

Meh. That's all I have to say. I used to love cartoon network but they stopped playing the good shows regularly so I've ceased caring what they do. At least they thought it was a good idea to come out with ed edd n eddy on DVD. But asaid from that purchase I don't intend on getting anything from them and expecting it to be worthwile.

You're going to give them money for, of all things, Ed Edd & Eddy, but then ignore them when they put out Chowder, The Misadventures of Flapjack, Batman: Brave and the Bold, The Secret Saturdays, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Venture Bros, Superjail, Metalacalypse and Robot Chicken? Serious?

The past 2 years of Cartoon Network has been so much better than the entire existence of the channel that it makes you wonder what they were doing the entire time. All they need to do now is start showing reruns of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and I'll be set for life. Between current Cartoon Network and Boomerang (can't live without Johnny Quest), I'm pretty much there already.

I don't get it - is it supposed to be more a social experience, or do you actually partake in regular MMO activities like Questing? Cause how are three jawbreaker obsessed idiots going to fight a dragon that would also be a credible threat to, say, three superheroes, a boy genius, or the grim reaper?

To answer the questions, it plays very similar to CoH/V, but instead of Outbreak, you start off in a Time Machine created by Dexter, but then Dee-Dee breaks it (as usual), sending you off into a world of bizarre Fusion duplicates of the main characters.

All the main characters are "Quest Givers", but they also have their mini-forms which are used in the same way as familiars. With Myasma is Buttercup (Stuns any monster with punches) or Numbuh 1(sic) who provides you with extra coins.

Each of the main characters has their Fusion Duplicate, composed of "PURE EVIL!" who you have to fight to finish quests.

In the brief time I had there, I got to use trampolines, deathslides and run along picking up extra clothing items from the main characters.

Seriously, if I was a kid, I'd be hooked. It's honestly that good.

The UK Cartoon Network only has one of the shows listed above and that's Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends.
