Castle Crashers Dev Reveals New Game
Castle Crashers [http://www.amazon.com/Alien-Hominid-Playstation-2/dp/B000678MB6/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1280172875&sr=1-1] developer The Behemoth has formally unveiled Battleblock Theater, its next cartoonishly-gory XBLA action game.
The Behemoth has really made a little niche for itself with the formula that produces games like Alien Hominid and Castle Crashes - Step One: Start with colorful, 2D cartoon characters. Step Two: Add fun, addictive co-op action. Step Three: Add some fun, over-the-top violence, and it all comes together rather well in the end.
Well, the formula ain't broke, and The Behemoth sure ain't fixin' it for its third game, Battleblock Theater [http://devblog.thebehemoth.com/?p=2130]. The trailer, as seen above, tells a simple story: You are shipwrecked on an island, betrayed by your best friend Hatty, and forced to compete in lethal games for the amusement of the local populace. There's a bunch of quick snippets of gameplay, and from what we can see it looks like a really quick, violent co-op action platformer. Which should be fun.
Oh, and extra points for the music, guys.
The Behemoth will be unveiling more about the game via its Developer Blog [http://devblog.thebehemoth.com/], so stay tuned.
