Changing my name (Yes I'm serious)

Long story short, I hate my name and I?m super nerdy, so as well as covering myself in nerd tattoos I am going to legally change my name to one of the names pictured.

I have narrowed it down to these 5 (I have been thinking about it for a looooong time), They all mean something to me and I just can?t make a final decision - That?s where you come in.

Reply to this post with your pick, you are allowed to have a first and second choice.

On May 31st I will tally all the votes, with first choices being worth 3 points and second choice being worth 1 point.

The names are in no particular order of preference for me;
I like Darth Cruxis because it mashes up my favourite game of all time with the sith, I had roughly 20 different darth names on earlier, less refined lists and this is the one that stuck;

I like Prince Vegeta because Vegeta is by far my most favourite character full stop, I already have several Vegeta tattoos with plans for more as well as a huge Vegeta collection, when I first pondered name changes I was set on this until I found other names I also wanted to have;

Even though I hated FF8, I liked Seifer Almasy and out of all the names it is the most practical as far as naming convention is concerned (I would choose the spelling Siefer as shown in the picture over Seifer simply because It is closer to how I pronounce it);

Legato Kaiba fuses Trigun and Yugioh, Kaiba being my close second favourite anti-hero behind Vegeta and Legato was an amazing character with an amazing name, I would have even considered his full name, Legato Bluesummers;

Mithos Yggdrasill is such a badass name, it is another one from Tales of Symphonia, although he wasn?t my favourite character from the game (Kratos Aurion was), he is certainly in the top 5 and I just love the name;

In fact, I love all the names and that?s why I?m doing this.

I will shamelessly say this post is also running on my tumblr, so votes will be combined.

The change of name process takes 4-6 weeks after paperwork has been lodged, I will be posting my new birth certificate as soon as I get it.

Edit: For those that don't know/have never seen Dragonball Z before, The name Prince Vegeta isn't some random pairing of Prince and Vegeta, I don't like the first name Prince but Vegeta is the saiyan prince, he is the prince of all saiyans, he refers to himself as Prince Vegeta and since he does not have a real full name, 'Prince Vegeta' is the closest you can get to a full name.

It is pretty common for names that are titles (Prince) to be refused. You should check if it would be permitted where you live.

I would advise against changing your name to something from that list. There is a very real risk of making yourself unemployable, any job application with those names on it will look like a joke and be filed in the bin. Also any hope of finding members of whatever you sex you are attracted to with name is somewhere around zero with those names.

Ok, few things.

1. As far as jobs go, I am already Regional telecommunications manager, I love my job and JB HiFi (my employer) aren't ones to discriminate.

2. Prince and Darth have been OK'd in my state and keep in mind, socially, I likely wouldn't be using these a lot (with friends etc) but yes, legal documents and simply being able to introduce myself as Price Vegeta are a given.

I am 100% serious and would change my name to any of these 5.

At the end of the day if it were to fuck up my life somehow, which I doubt, I could simply change it back (A change of name is permitted once every 3 months in NSW)

Also, I don't see how this is any different than people simply being named obscure/weird names from birth by their parents - A good friend of mine's real name is 'Harmony-Phoenix Love' and she is a national marketing manager...

Lets be honest though, what's the worst that could happen? The OP can always change his name again if he regrets his choice down the line.

Possibly not forever, but for the foreseeable future I am safe.

The next higher up on the totem has been to my house and played me at mario kart, The CEO, My state manager and I all play Sim city together - As mentioned earlier, JB Hi-Fi is not a company that discriminates.

I get phone calls 24 hours a day on my mobile, I don't need to introduce myself because anyone calling me knows who they are calling, but I probably would answer as Darth for fun.

I'm going to stop replying to posts about jobs and that now because I find it a silly excuse to not go through with what I really want to do, especially since it's not like it has to be a permanent change.

Same for FF8 and the 2 anime ones - Siefer isn't obvious and neither is Kaiba.

The only things that would constantly be picked up on are Prince Vegeta and Darth as a first name and I'd be fine with it, I wouldn't get anymore attention from it than I already get from my full forearm Vegeta tattoo or the Sith Empire symbol on my hand.
