Chicken Theme Continues in New Gears of War 3 Easter Egg

Gears of War has some of the most resilient arcade cabinets in existence.

It's not just chicken-themed weapons [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/113298-Gears-3-Easter-Egg-Brings-Chicken-to-Gun-Fight] that appear as Easter eggs in Gears of War 3 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/113298-Gears-3-Easter-Egg-Brings-Chicken-to-Gun-Fight], it's chicken-themed arcade games too. A new video has revealed the location of a playable arcade game called Sawed-Off Chicken in one of the game's later stages.

As the name suggests, Sawed-Off Chicken is about shotgun wielding poultry facing off against hordes of foes. You can find it by playing Act 4, Chapter 1 on Insane difficulty and following the instructions on the video. The game looks more like a curiosity than something that's actually all that fun to play, but I suppose the real joy is in finding it, rather than playing it.

This is by no means the only Easter egg in the game either; aside from the cluckshot, there's also a slide that Cole can play on as well as references to Jazz Jackrabbit, one of Epic's earliest games. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Epic has taken a leaf out of Blizzard's book and included an entire chicken level.

Yeah, hell, the character in the first game was called "Chicken Chaser", for god's sake. They're taking over the world!

This reminds me of the "Vampire Nightmare" Easter Egg minigame in Metal Gear Solid 3.
