No problems here. Anyway, that guy already got suspended. No need to continue raging at him.
I'm well aware, but, sometimes things need to be said..... This whole thing comes down to another case of crap parenting. I am very sadenned by this. I see some real shitty parenting sometimes & when I hear of cases like this I do really wonder what happens with those kids. Makes you appreciate your parents being hard on you at times

now here is the most important question why the hell were they letting a 3 year play a game that involved a gun in the first place, how stupid were these people?
Duck hunt? I don't know. Then again, a Wii-remote is often use for some point-n-click games.

It's possible that the little girl didn't even confused it with a Wii-remote in the first place. It's possible she thought the gun was a toy. She's a 3 years old. At that age, I don't think she sees the difference. It's also possible that mom is searching for an excuse for bad parenting.

well he left the gun around, she's very young. really it's the parent's fault for not locking their guns and putting them in a safe location, but they are to childish to own up and plan to sue and tarinsh nintendo's name over the life of their dead child

Sick people

How does a parent "failed to notice - or perhaps care - that her child was playing with the weapon"?
Don't be so naive. Do you honestly believe parents can be watching their kids 24/7?

(I don't mean specifically you, this was just the first post I saw when I wanted to point out people being naive.)
I understand that no one can watch their kids 24/7, but when there's a loaded weapon within reach of a 3-year old? I'd understand if the kid fell down the stairs or maybe swung a kitchen knife around, but a loaded gun?

Well, at least Nintendo will get some of the controversy now instead of the more brutally violent games.

I will say one thing:
Which looks/functions more like a gun, a Wii Zapper or a Controller? Maybe Nintendo is teaching kids how to be violent more than actual violent games are.

Who leaves a gun with the safety off on a table where a 3 year old can get it?

Its a shame its to late to outlaw guns in America, how many deaths could be avoided.

Or, they could try a video-games for guns program, you know get rid of the REAL problem - video games.

The mother was in the room when her daughter picked up the gun and yet did not try and take it away from her?

The only thing that can be blamed is the person who left the gun out in the bloody open like that!

It's a fire arm, you lock it away when not using it, espcially if you have a child!

I feel sorry for the kid, it wasn't her fault.

So a shoddy set of parents has tried to get off the hook of a death by negligence charge by jumping on the anti-computor games band wagon. I would say its just another wound for video gamings over all reputation, but this is such a poor argument that it will hopefully not be taken up as a major point in the campaign against children playing video games.

Okay I'm going to act like a bastard here, I feel sorry for the family, but honestly as a rare duck, a gun owner from childhood, and a gamer, I'm going to be blunt.

Fucking Idiots. That's it. They Are FUCKING IDIOTS. The Parents are FUCKING MORONS! Here is the rules of gun safety I learnt as a 5 year old.

1) Treat Every Firearm as if loaded, even when proven otherwise (that means don't point it at shit you moron)
2) Only aim at something you intend to shoot
3) When not using the firearm secure it safely in a locked gun cabinet of some kind, separate from the ammunition. YOU NEVER LEAVE THEM LOADED.

It's fucking simple, those are the core rules of gun safety, anyone who doesn't follow them in their own home is a fucking moron, I'm not blaming the kid, I'm blaming the stupid parents, you don't leave guns laying around you moronic twits, ever, you don't leave them loaded, ever, you don't let little kids touch them EVER.

The man should be locked away for life. fucking twit.
THANK YOU! IM NOT ALONE!!

How many more vulnerable people will have to die before gun controls will be tightened or even completely revoked? Speaking as a Brit, I just don't understand why this has been allowed to go on for so long. Blame may not lie with the parents, regardless of all the speculation on this thread, but with a government and a society that is too attatched to an old and outdated ideal about personal defence. Until more people in America wake up to why this problem exists, there will continue to be horrific and tragic accidents like this every day.
well since we are on the topic of generalizations. lets ban soccer while were at it since it seem that everytime there is a soccer match it britan there seems to be a riot.

So, imagine you're home and you hear an intruder. Like any good homeowner, you grab your gun to deal with them. Then, realizing it wasn't anything that required the sweet kiss of hot lead, you put the loaded gun down on the end-table, safety off, and forget about it. Totally reasonable, right?
Maybe it's because I'm Canadian but, no?
