So I've been watching the threads for two of these games, Wo Long and Hogwarts Legacy. I find I want both games. On top of that, I heard Dead Space Remake is superb! On top of TOP OF THAT, Resident Evil 4 Remake is just around the corner, and I am hyped for that as well.
But as with any members of society w/ jobs and responsibilities, I can only spend so much time and money on these games!
I plan on getting two of these soon, and wait for other two to go on sale. Here are my quick reasonings for each games;
Hogwarts Legacy
IGNORING THE WHOLE TRANS VS ANTI-TRANS debacle, I always found wizarding world to be quite charming. I do not like JK Rowling anymore than other people, but she managed to create one of my favorite fictional fantasy worlds. The spells look super fun, the world looks colorful and begging to be explored, and riding on magical creatures and broom sounds amazing. However, I heard the story is a bit on mediocre side, nothing much to do once you get the strongest gears, and there are no current plans for additional contents?
Wo-Long
I loved the parry gameplay of Sekiro. I heard this game is a lot like sekiro, just with crazier movements and even tigher parry window. Weapon variety looks like, and character builds look simple but still gives you cool abilities. But I'm also seeing comments like story and characters are a bit on boring side, and currently the technical issues are huge on pc version. Plus the game as a whole feels wide, but shallow in its depth
Dead Space Remake
The original game is quite possibly one of my favorite horror game, even my favorite games in general, of all time. I always wondered how the remake would look like, or if it would ever come out. Well here we are! Apparently this game is a prime example of how a remake should be; Right up there with Resident Evil 2 Remake. Better graphics (duh!), better controls, all weapons are kinda viable now, and new necromorph type plus secret ending for new game plus. One thing that I do have to say is I can't get used to Isaac Clark's new voice and face. It feel drastically different from the original trilogy, almost as if it's baiting for remakes for all games....wait a minute.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
like the original RE4 quite a bit. It will hold a special place in my heart for revolutionizing the franchise and tps horror genre. And what was publicly shown so far has been great, and I am hyped. However, as with any new releases, I am cautiously-optimistic. I would need to see some more gameplay and playthroughs before I got out and buy the game. I am tired of riding the hype train only to derail and fall into neverending void of disappointment.
To be honest, DSR is a very strong candidate for me right now, so it'll probably be that + one other game. But I am open to other suggestions
