So let me get this straight, a game made by christian game developers about killing demons is fine, but when anyone else makes a game about killing demons it's considered glorifying Satan. I've seen people claim Doom is blasphemous when it's the exact same concept, you (the player) killing demons.

This double standard is so tragically (and ironically) hilarious.

That second link has to be a parody site. It's just too over-the-top to be real, as well as subtly making fun of what they're espousing. Hopefully that's the case, anyway.
Unfortunately, it's real...

As far as I know, the link is to the official website of a Christian Youth Group that are on record as being a fairly fundamentalist bunch...

I really don't know anyone that goes to Walmart to buy games...
And from living in the bible belt all my life, the though of christian-themed games never fails to make me facepalm.
Yoou live in the bible belt and have never heard of people going to Wal-mart? I live in the bible belt and our town has NOTHING but a wal-mart.

Left Behind Games hopes that placement in Walmart will help its Christian-themed titles reach gamers.
beyond the facts i could be classed as an atheist extremist this makes me weep. As a nation (United Kingdom) that is 20% totally atheist, maybe more this wiki page has lots of differing numbers, this move is just another step back in getting rid of the lies. Also in the hope it will reach out the gamers which i guess to be around 50%+ atheists this will become a near total failure

No, buying games at Walmart. Their game selection is horrible, especially for PC games. But we mostly tend to go to Walmart and walk around when we are bored since there is nothing else to do in SW Missouri.

Given the history of christian games being very... bad (Bible adventures, Super Noah Ark 3D, that one RTS that caused all that controversey) the name "Left Behind" seams like it will being a fitting title in more ways then one.

It will be games of the Christian persuasion that will keep AVGN in business for a long time to come. The bible games reviews he has done in the past were great, and I look forward to twenty years from today to see him doing a review of these games. Sweet... my life finally has a purpose!

The problem with doing a test run with a product targeted at Christians is doing one in Texas. No offense to any Texans, but wow. HARDCORE Christians. They are one of the States passing a law actually rewriting textbooks to say that the Founding Fathers were all Christians, evolution doesn't exist, ect.

See, a Christian themed game wouldn't be a bad idea... if it were any good. Unfortunately, like most Christian themed movies, they look very cheesy.

Wait. Fiction and non-fiction!? I didn't think Christianity had both categories!

This is clearly a misleading report. Clearly.
DAMN YOU! I came here just to make that comment, and now I have to come up with something else.
Well, to each their own, I suppose.

A religion that's suppost to be about peace, love, and compassion wanting to do business with a company that ruthlessly crushes any attempts to organize labor, manipulates timecards and mistreats employees while the company itself deals only in cheaply made products made in China by an exploited and oppressed workforce.

What makes a game a "cristian game" anyway?
It's a game that is some how tenuously connected to the tenets of the religion in question. They've run the gamut from bible focused platformers on the NES to this, an RTS where you lead a fanatical group of genocidal "christians" through a post apocalyptic New York killing all that oppose your extremist ideology converting unbelievers, all the while faced with the potential that your own troops will come to their senses and turn on you lose their faith and will to fight.

In case you're wondering: I read the wiki plot synopsis, and the stuff in strikes is supposed to be sarcastic.

I'm sorry, but just read the title. How much more off-piste can you get than that?

Hum. I feel like playing a game. This one is endorsed by God AND Walmart?! I'd give my soul for that!

Same, but in Left Behind I'd just let the "anti-christ" win

When you say "Christian games", do you mean games based loosely off of Christian doctrine (Dante's Inferno), or games that try to promote Christian values. Because there's a radical difference between them.

So they're trying to push Christian games by working with the Satan of shopping centers. Interesting strategy.
The irony being that if the niche goes big, Walmart will simply get cheaper versions sent over from China and crush Left Behind games for good.
