Waitwaitwait... shoe size? What the hell kind of sense does that make?

To think, all this tragedy could have been avoided if they'd just sold rulers for a dollar each.

Ernest Evans? You mean this guy?
I'm surprised he was able to find a lawyer who wouldn't laugh him out of the office.

Ok...on the one hand, as if they're trying to exploit the popularity of someone nobody knows. They were trying to think of a safe way to say penis for their stupid, inane app. On the other hand, it IS a stupid, inane app, and Hewlett-Packard probably deserve to be sued somehow. So I don't really care how this ends, but one party is losing money and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So a guy is suing for half a billion over a product that made less than $100 for using his trademarked name, meanwhile his rise to fame was a song he did a cover for a song that was covered by him. He made a fortune (re-releasing the song repeatedly) while the original artist didn't. What a jerk.

I have never heard of "chubby" being used as a slang term for a man's three piece set.
Pretty much my reaction to this.

Well you know what they say about guys with big feet, big shoes.

Shame on Chubby for the frivolus lawsuit. But i could almost forgive him considering its brought this hilarious app to my attention, i cant look at that 'Check Da Chubby' pic without smirking.
The sad part is: if he doesn't sue, under US law he LOSES HIS TRADEMARK! This may be just a way for him to keep the trademark. And saying that the name sounds kinda like his trademarked name is just a touch off: they added the word "the" to the front of his trademark.

Would you be saying the same if apple sued someone for making something like this then calling it "the apple"

Who the hell calls their package "chubby?"

Just what name did they use for the female alteration of this?

The irony is that "Chubby Checker" was actually a riff on the name "Fats Domino".

Guess he found his thrill...

That's just a myth. There are plenty of guys out there with big feet and small shoes.

OT: 500 million lawsuit... yeah, this is gold. I don't think I could make a joke about this that's more silly than that lawsuit.

What the hell is that platform?!
Who the hell makes that platform.
500 million, for a useless jokes of a program that generated less than is requires to pay my really small apartment's rent.

Also who the fuck is that guy? Should I be sad that I have never heard of him?
And he has to be so old that hell drop off to the mud pit with shower of flowers soon enough...
And again who the fuck is that guy?

Id be laughing if this was not so ridiculously ironic and pathetic.

Anyway, lets hope this does not mean HP will have to design another brand of completely awful laptops that overheat when on idle. There is a reason DV9000 is a cussword between computer specialists.

Am I the only one that noticed the lawyer's name is 'Willie' and Chubby is suing 'Palm'?

Did April 1st come early this year?

Funny how he doesn't want his name to get sexual connotations or images when he behaves like a huge dick. Also, his lawyer is called 'Willie'.

Ok so Googling his name, 8/10 results on the first page are about this news story (would that I could even call it news), the other 2 being IMDB and Wikipedia; which has an entry on the case, so make that 9/10.

Meaning that everybody who hasn't heard of him (which is probably at least half of the internet) will now associate him with this story and not the one other thing he was famous for.

So let us all give a hearty slow clap for Dick Measure.

Perhaps ironically, this behaviour is now re-inforcing the idea that Chubby Checker is a means to measure dicks by using him as a standard.

Its more the amount he is sueing them for that offends me...

It's either a sign that he is only doing it to keep the trademark or he is going senile.
