The 80's was a total melting pot of great catchy Punk pop tunes, here are some of my choice favorites.

All of these are just absolutely Brilliant, and they really make me want to sing along to them.

So Escapist, have you got any catchy 80's hooks that you want to share?

Not really into true post-punk/new wave, more of an alt-rock fan but I'll do my best.

Is this post-punk or is it regular punk? I'm terrible with genre labels, so I don't know, and in truth I don't really care because this song is awesome regardless.

Birthday party: One of my favourite bands, and one hell of a crazy mad video:

The B52s are crazy mad too, but in a very different way:

By the way, how are you doing that embedding thingy?

For your second link, you would use this:

[ youtube=tDZy6-fMCw4 ]

just remove the spaces after the opening bracket and before the closing square bracket.

All I can say is, you asked for it.

Yeah Mission of Burma is indeed Post-Punk, but the exact style is somewhat non consistent with regards to Post-Punk.

You have Post-Punk that is more dark almost gothic punk, some that is like ordinary Punk, but with more experimental elements like dubbing, and synths, and some that sound like a catchy punk love song, that wouldn't feel out of place in a top 40's pop chart.

There are so many post-punk/new-wave artists to choose from, but rather than ninja everyone else with an enormous list of tracks that all the 80s radio stations play, here's a few slightly more esoteric choices (still well known though).

Souxsie:
Kraftwerk:
Hazel O'Connor:

I leave someone else to post a good Jam/Clash/Human League/Thompson Twins/Ultravox/Soft Cell/Gary Numan/Stranglers/Howard Jones/Toyah et.al. vid!

Funnily enough I think that the bands posted by me and everyone else actually did better tracks than the ones that are listed, although perhaps not as catchy or with as memorable hooks. Poor old Robert Smith... remembered for Friday I'm in Love rather than the fantastic nihilism and moroseness that were the Cure's trademarks :)

I was born in the 90's so I listened to grunge and hard rock. Not that I haven't looked into the past for great music, far from it, it's just that this kind never grabbed me in the same way that, say, Soundgarden did. Speaking of...
