I dont mark myself one of the elites of great works of literature, but I can still appreciate when classics are adapted to new mediums...particularly games since you get to experience the events in the story. When I saw the "Conan" game for XBOX 360 I was giddy and skeptical at the same time. It did not dissapoint, being somewhat adherent to the feel and character of Conan (Not perfect, but well enough for me) and the end of the game leads right into the begining of the story "Isle of the Black Ones" which impressed me. This leads to the question I pose for all of you: What piece of classic or iconic literature would you like to see adapted to game form? I would love to see a Illiad/Odyssey game where you take the role of many characters throught the game! Who knows. Maybe some gaming big-wig's minions might catch wind of this and we see some gamer input go to some good use.

Bethesda did a "Where's Waldo" game. Coincidentally, guess who I dressed up as for my senior class panoramic photo?

I'd love to see a Starship Troopers game - something closer to the novel than the movie. I don't necessarily want to play as Johnny, but I think the whole concept of going through the marine training then engaging in an ongoing war against the bugs and their allies would be awesome. Maybe have some sort of MMOFPS thing going, so the multiplayer is actually a persistent universe like Sega had with Chromehounds, only not shit.

Unfortunately if you made such a game now you'd have people pointing out the inevitable similarities to Gears of War and Halo 3: ODST. :(

Make it awesome & people will play it. Personally I'd probably make more of a L4D comparison (hordes of aliens vs small group of soldiers) but it screams "MAKE ME INTO A GOOD VIDEOGAME"

Even though I think survival horror has kind of worn out its welcome, I imagine something based off of 1984 or Invasion of the Body Snatchers would be kind of exciting, especially if they were able to develop some really interesting mechanics to represent the player staying disguised in a public place. It would be a sort of survival sneaker, especially in the Body Snatchers case, where the game would get gradually harder as the world became increasingly hostile and unforgiving.

I want to see an adaptation of Greek Mythology, no not like God of War, but an open world game were you can be a simple pheasant, worshipping the gods (or not) and doing quests. Heck, you could even let me control Zeus and rain down thunder upon my enemies!

Zeus: Master of Olympus? Loki? There are few mythological games, it's not hard to look.

But still, living as a peasant (lol at pheasant) would be extremely boring.

There is already a game (a couple of them I think). Don't ask me what they're like, I've never played them.

Bioshock is based on Atlas shrugged which I currently reading so if I can go with that then I will. If not then Dante's Inferno (although after that marketing stunt I dispair of it being any good).

One I would love to see made into a game is the edge chronicles. That would be so awesome.

That would be awesome. Flying around in a sky ship, raiding Leagueships, kicking Vilnix Pompolonius out on his arse.

Yeah, I think I'd play that.

Well, the original Alone in the Dark was based on Lovecraft horror novels.

Also, on the Curious George front, perhaps you should all take a gander at this one:

The game is based upon the canon of the film Starship Troopers by Paul Verhoeven.
Not what I'm looking for.

Hey, good idea - if it were an MMO I think I'd die!

Well, that or play it.

Probably play it.
