Company of Heroes 2 Takes World War II to the Eastern Front

Sounds interesting. CoH had to have had some of the best RTS combat in any game. I thought the resource gathering sucked, but still.

I don't see how Relic could make this without a German campaign. You can't have the Eastern Front without chronicling the heady early days of the invasion, where the entire Soviet prewar army was basically annihilated by the Germans. First you would play this campaign to show the initial power of the invaders, then the Soviet campaign would come afterwards to demonstrate how they are brought low by the new Red Army. In any case, its COMPANY OF HEROES 2! My god man you should be interested regardless!

Yes yes yes!!! Finally-I never managed to get the Eastern Front mod to work, this is great news! Here's hoping for another excellent German campaign like in Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valour!

Also its finally going to make sense for German infantry to be wearing those winter jackets.

Actually there isn't, yet. There's half a mod. The Ostheer still aren't on general release.

Aw.. I love CoH but isn't ANYONE getting kinda sick of the WW2 setting? Relic could easily take this to the next level with another setting. Oh well... I'm sure it'll be good.

Well, suppose that it could be neat, would prefer that Relic focused on Dawn of War 3 though. Always preferred Dawn of War series to Company of Heroes, but CoH is by no means a poor game.

DOW 3 is already in the pipeline. Relic said that they had big plans for it when it comes out, including working on better implementing the Heroes vs Larger Armies dichotomy from Retribution.

But I'll settle for COH 2 until then.

I doubt they're disappointed. This gives them a new opportunity to improve on a new base that Relic will offer them.

I still pour hours and hours into CoH today. I've been playing it for six years.

They not only have my money guaranteed they have any DLC or Expansions they come up with sold.

And I have to admit I wouldn't mind a Finnish campaign....

I'm excited - providing that they spend a lot of time balancing the multiplayer. Right now early game is all Allies and late game is all Axis

I too really like company of heroes, but despite their success with it and how well it was recieved they still abandoned it and stopped patching when it still needed work.
