That's a serious shame, not been a followe of these games or anything, but it's tragic when someone goes down like this.

Typical, that three people have to lose their lives, thanks to the momentary stupidity of one (possibly two) people. Hopefully she will be punished to the full extent of the law...not sure what that would entail in the US, but I hope it will be harsh.

Played enough CoH to say that the game was a unique RTS that pushed the boundary in many many ways.

Sincere condolences to all parties involved, hope the mother and child survived. His father was without any doubt a great man.

This is one of the things that scares me most in life.

Sometimes your life, and that of your family, can be estinguished by the recklessness of idiots.
So unnecessary.

Shit happens. It's bound to eventually happen to someone you know. We are all victims of circumstances, so to say.
Then again, shit would happen a lot less often if people paid some fucking attention to what they're doing.

Thanks to two idiots who somehow managed to survive, lives of a lot of people will be affected.
See? There is no God.

Never heard of the guy or played his games but I know what it's like to lose people. For what it's worth my condolences.

My prayers go out to the family.

You know what Ironic? That 21 year old may have played that guy games. I only have one problem....why didn't they just park the freaking car!?

Also, everyone here needs to stop acting like they've never made a mistake. Sure, yours didn't cost any human lives, but no one is perfect, and we learn by mistakes like this. She didn't kill people on purpose, so lets all just grow up a bit and ease off the "she should be tortured then killed" crap.
The problem here is that she was on drugs and attempting to remove a sweater while driving. if she ran a red light, it would still be horrible but also something most of us have done. Forgivable, in other words. I don't know about you, but I rarely get hight and then attempt to remove sweaters while driving. That is what makes this so particularly heinous.
One time I was driving along and my friend in the back seat was being a massively annoying dick, more annoying than he usually was (why the hell did I ever give him a lift back from college every day... anyway) and I looked up in the mirror and told him to stfu. While I did that however I ran a red light. I got lucky there was no one around but had someone been crossing I'd have probably killed them and it would have been as equally pointless a death as the one above.

Don't get me wrong, it was a terrible tragedy and she needs to pay her dues; but some people in this thread are really going insane with talk of torture and bears as if they've never done anything in their lives that might have killed someone had the variables been different.

Also it doesn't say what kind of drugs they were, for all we know they could be prescription drugs that she was having an adverse reaction to. That happened to me once, I took some antibiotics for a small cut (infection sucks) and I almost passed out a few hours later. Doctor said it happens sometimes that you'll be the small % of people who have bad reactions to random chemicals. Had I been driving I'd have probably crashed.

You don't know if she was under the influence of anything. All you have is this line:
Weichert is believed to have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision and could be charged with vehicular homicide and vehicular assault, according to the spokesman.
There is no proof that she was under the influence of anything at all, only speculation.

So far, the only mistake she made was trying to take off her sweater while driving. It was a mistake that she'll regret for the rest of her life.

As I said, we all make mistakes, some worse than others.

In my opinion, it's actually far worse if she decided to do that in a clear state of mind.

and to think, if they tought pulling over and getting your crap togeather to drivers- a son might have a father. Oh wait drugs? seriously why do people still buy drugs? i mean after the thousands of people dieing off drugs why would you at any point think "oh i gotta get in on that shit!"
We're young, it can never happen to us.

Oh oh, or we're rich, that only happens to stupid poor people. Thats another good one.

Oh and, What's the worst that could happen?

Ok I'm done.

OT: RIP Mr. Wood. My condolensces to your family and I hope your wife and child are doing fine. A sucker may be born every minute but an idiot is born every 30 seconds.

Everyone in the car that caused the accident were being stupid.

Her for deciding not to pull over before taking her sweater off. Her friend who decided to try drive the car while leaning over and not advising the driver to pull over first and the guys in the back for not advising the driver to pull over.

RIP to all those who were killed. I hope his wife and the unborn child make full recoverers

I will take your last statement as a valuable one. If that turns out to be the case, I rescind my previous statement. However, if she was, as I suspect, on recreational drugs or even sober, I believe that this is what capitol punishment is for. I'm not calling for torture like some others, I only wish justice for this terrible crime.

Damn, heard that the game was good. And I hope his family is doing okay, not starving or anything. My condolences to the family. Also, I hope the ***** driving the Chevy knows that there are children that have to live the rest of their lives without a father because she was a little uncomfortable and high. I hope she knows the pain she will cause several children. I might even buy the game now, even though my computer most likely can't run it, in memorial of Wood. Rest in peace, friend.

Traffic Accidents are always tragic, but it's made worse when you have a connection to the person. Even though i just liked an excellent piece of entertainment he was part in developing i feel a bit sad. Hope his wife pulls through and his family and friends are able to grieve in peace.
