Composer Ennio Morricone passes away at age 91.

This morning, Italian soundtrack composer Ennio Morricone has passed away in Rome. He was aged 91 years old. While best known for his collaborations with Sergio Leone, creating what is arguably the sound of the spaghetti western, he was quite prolific, scoring some 500 films over his 60+ year career, amongst which John Carpenter's The Thing, De Palma's The Untouchables, Tarantino's The Hateful Eight and many many more. With his passing, so does one of the all time greats of his trade.

This... hit hard, and bummed me out for an entire day. Morricone was my favorite movie score composer(and one of the favorite musicians altogether), and i was still naively hoping to see him in a live concert - the man was 91, but still working! Well, not anymore...
RIP, Maestro.
