ok, so steam is having a special deal this weekend only where you can get S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shadow of chernobyl for $5.00 (U.S.), and from reading the tech requirements, it seems that i have at least most of the minimum requirements and some of the recommended requirements in order for my PC to handle the game.

however, there are some requirements listed that do no exatly match what I have on my computer, and I'm not exactly the most tech savvy person, nor do I have a great knowledge of comparison between various models of hardware components, so I am hoping that some of the knowledgable members of the escapist might be willing to help me.

minimum requirements:
processor: Intel Pentium 4, 2GHz(presumably single core but unspecified) or AMD XP 2200+
Graphics card: nVIDIA GeForce 5700 or ATI RADEON 9600.

recommended requirements:
processor: intel core 2 duo E6400 or AMD Athalon 64 X2 4200+
graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 7900 or ATI RADEON X1850

My Specs:
processor: AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-core Mobile ZM-82 ~2.2GHz.
graphics card: ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4650 series w/ 1Gb dedicated RAM

I have already decided to get this game and the only thing holding me back is the possible hardware issues, so it would be greatly appreciated if responses could be limited to the harware and devoid of any suggestions as to whether or not I should buy the game, how good/bad it is, etc.etc.

thank you in advance!

Should be fine. The processor seems to be more advanced, and the GPU is more advanced

Your system is newer than the recommended by quite a bit, no issue.

alright, thank you, I looked around the internet some more and found some rather incomplete comparison charts that seem to corroborate your advice, so I'm going for it. once again, thank you!
