Good-day Fellow Escapists!

I am having some computer problems that I cannot figure out. I have just finished building a new computer and everything seems to be in the right place and everthing seems to have power.

However, for some reason, it powers on for about 15secs, turns off, turns back on and stays on. But nothing is detected, I get no response on the screen.

Its frustrating as hell.
Please help me if you can.

Sounds like a CPU mounting problem. Either its mounted incorrectly, or in the case of some AMD motherboards you may have to setup the CPU voltages before you can move on. But be careful incorrect settings can cook the CPU on first boot. You should atleast get to a point of the system posting "The BEEP" if the cpu is mounted correctly and everything else isn't.

There is also the possibility that you have a DOA chip.

It may also mean problems with Power supply unit, mainboard, Bios/UEFI returning to default state, Overclocking, wrong RAM placement, power line@your home etc. etc.

Provide additional data !
- WHEN does it happen ? In the middle of Windows session, after pressing POWER ON button ?
- What's your Bios/UEFI setting for "action after power off" ?
- Are all components correctly recognized by BIOS/UEFI ?
- Details of your gfx card/processor/power supply unit ?
- Have you tried overclocking ?

More Data ! :)
