Concept Art Surfaces For Disney Steampunk "Epic Mickey"

Concept art from Warren Spector's rumored Disney-does-steampunk project - code-named "Epic Mickey" - has been leaked onto the Internet. Really, really awesome concept art.

Junction Point [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/88328-Warren-Spector-Making-A-Steampunk-Mickey-Game] studios. The concept art for the project, code-named "Epic Mickey," featured some recognizable Disney iconography in a surreal, steampunk world.

Well, now You have now [http://www.fredgambino.co.uk/film_tv_thmbs.html].

mind-blowingly cool [http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=369603&page=3] beach scene described in the original Gamasutra piece.

It's almost surprising that Disney - which owns Junction Point - is allowing this sort of treatment of their fiercely-protected IPs. Sure, the company is no stranger to warping the minds of young children [http://na.square-enix.com/games/kingdomhearts/]...)

All snark aside, this is actually a very cool new take on some of the Western world's most famous and beloved characters and worlds, and it's certainly ignited my interest in the project. The original Gamasutra article suggests that "Epic Mickey" is likely to be a platformer, and statements by another artist [http://www.tonypulham.com/Pages/resume.html] - Tony Pulham - suggest that the title will be for the Nintendo Wii, but there's no way to know for sure until something more official surfaces.

Ok, that does look awesome. Now to wait and see what it actually turns out to be about.

That's not a zombie, it's pretty clearly a robot.

My first impression of this picture was that it would have something to do with Kingdom Hearts. However, after reading the article, I'm not so sure anymore. Either way, it does look fairly interesting.

To be fair it also looks like a voodoo doll since his face is made out of fabric but we'll stick with zombie.

Those screens look amazing - I sure hope this is as unique as it looks in the flesh. And a platformer, you say!? Sweet! This might actually turn out to be a damn good game. I'm really interested to see what happens with this.

Nope.
Just pure epic awesomeness.
But if we see princesses in the concept art, I won't be excited for the game

That's interesting indeed.

I'm quite indiffirent to both Disney and Steampunk.
But a certain game series with a certain Keyblade, has proven Disney can reach out beyond expectations.

I'll follow this one closely!

Hmm,a steampunk. Disney steampunk. Kind of intrested, altough something like Mad Marx (adventures of Karl Marx in post-apocalyptic remains of Soviet Empire) would be better, both in terms of coolness and fun.

As for the Goofy,he's clearly Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot of sorts.
