Conrad Verner's Significance in ME3

Anyone noticed how Bioware piled up a lot of sidequests from ME1's outcomes on Conrad at the Citadel Docks? Such as Matriarch Dillinaga's stuff? This is a really nice touch. Hell, he even references glitches in ME2. And he takes a bullet for ya.
And he has a PhD that is important to the Crucible, which is frankly quite out of the blue. Also I got the updated war asset for talking to him repeatedly on the Citadel, so it's true, I'm not lying.

Um, ok? Also, you can save him if you finished the undercover C-Sec mole in Chora's Den in Mass Effect 1 quest. She shows up and overloads the guy's gun before he shoots.

Conrad still makes a dramatic scene out of the whole thing though.

Yeah, just thought I'd post it to show that Bioware didn't completely let themselves be assholes about player decision. And also, I'd have totally forgotten about Conrad.

I laughed the hardest at, "Oh no, its in an ancient asari dialect. We're going to need to translate it."

"Will these Ancient Matriarch writings help?"

Wait, what?

I only saw him once, when he randomly walked up out of the blue and took a bullet for me. Than that Rita chick from ME1 stepped out and said, "Oh, he didn't really shoot you, I sabotaged his gun". I thought it was one of the sillier moments in the game, and not in a good way.

Apparently I missed something.

He's a comic relief character. I loved the fact that he has a doctoral dissertation in xenotechnology and dark energy integration. Out of all Mass Effect characters, Conrad's story had the most unexpected turn of events. Even Jack didn't surprise me as much as Conrad.

They kind of goofed. If you take care of the poisoned Medi-Gel dispensers before you talk to him it skips over most of his involvement in the side quest.

His entire appearance in ME3 had me laughing. It caught me off guard when we find out that he's actually a bit of a genius. Though he didn't die in my game because Jenna (the girl who was working in Chora's Den for C-Sec in the first game) sabotaged the attacker's gun.

When I first saw him... well.. Shepard captured my reaction:
"Oh for the love of..."

Then I was all like:
"Why didn't I shoot you in the foot in ME2?"

Then when he offered to help:
"Oh no. No, no, no... you'll just screw up again.

Then when he acutally helped me out:
"Whoa... Errm... Okay then..."

Then I found out he used all the money he had to help the orphans escape Illium from Reaper attack:
"Wow... you... I'm starting to respect you now dude!"

Then I found he made a shrine out of the photo he took of me:
"Respect gone..."

I was half expecting him to show up in a fighter at some point and strafe some enemies out of the blue, but that's the crazy part of my imagination going. This was hilarious, it was good to see them pull him out again. I love the bit where he apologizes for accusing you of shoving a gun in his face when you might not have, and all the miscellaneous commentary he has on game-logic quirks. Nice touch.

Conrad's Doctoral degree and the subsequent conversation makes me howl with laughter. All those Matriarch writings were finally worth it!
