Well, obligatory Bears video.

Anyway, I've never seen Brave. So, I can't say whether this works or not. But from the pictures I've seen of Brave, yeah, it doesn't really make my mind jump to that movie.

Merida, Schmerida. I know Red Sonya when I see her, so let's all gawk at Red Sonya kissing a bear's tongue as it's licking her face.

I'll be in my bunk.

The preparation included slapping her in the face with a dead salmon. It was rather unhot.
Well, darn. I can't beat that.

Kudos.

Their image of Meridia is very different from the one I have in my head.

Having said that, I am impressed with her ability to stay calm in close proximity to a bear wearing nothing but a bikini.

I have to wonder... if this is supposed to be Princess Merida, is the bear supposed to be her cursed mother? And if so, could this technically be one of the oddest pictures of mother/daughter pseudo-incest cosplay? Because if it's supposed to be Mor'du, then it's even weirder... if that's possible.

You know, just asking questions here.
An excellent point... Creepy.

Still, props to her for being brave(stupid?) enough to get that uh... personal with a bear. I certainly wouldn't.

Is this really news worthy? Maybe if she actually wore Merida dress, but it's just a cosplay shoot. With a bear.

I get it. Thats just some easy, boob covered click-bait.
Didn't notice the source of the article, I take it?

It's from Kotaku. That should tell you all you need to know.

The better question is....why is it here? I had originally considered The Escapist to be somewhat above the level of juvenile Kotaku journalism, but apparently I was mistaken. There's zero ties to gaming, and the ties to Merida are very, very arguable (in that it pretty much looks nothing like a Merida cosplay at all, hell, if anything I'd have guessed Zena first). So I'm not sure why this article exists here at all.

Would any of the Escapist staff here care to elaborate on why this is here?
Oh, I noticed it alright.

But why sourcing Kotaku though? Since when is Kotaku a reliable source of information? And this isn't gaming, tech or geek culture related, as far as I'm aware, so why is it here?

Man, I was rather boringly thinking they must have painted her face with honey or something but your way is SOOOO much better.
I'm keeping it, you win.

It isn't really supposed to be Merida from Brave, per se. This company does photoshoots with live animals, and then gives the set a title that's vaguely related. For example, pictures with a deer = "Patronus" Which is apparently a Harry Potter reference or something.

Isn't swanning about in a bikini pretty much exactly the opposite of what Merida is supposed to be?

Still, you can't blame her for knowing her audience- If anyone is going to lap up some bird in a bikini, it's sex-deprived nerds.

Extreme cosplayer indeed. Seems like a bit of an unnecessary risk. I mean, unless she was already a bear tamer of some kind.

There is a different between being "manly" and taking a significant risk for... what exactly? Articles like these I suppose? Beautiful picks but this is more like the feeling I get when I see a skateboarder leap for a rail in a fail compilation.

Yeah, as far as cosplay, this is the opposite message. Good point.

Ah yes, from that infamous scene where she ditches the bow, strips off her dress to revel her leather underwear and makes out with her mom.
