Could America be invaded?

It shoots undetected nukes from its gatling gun. No one would know where it they would come from.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but whenever a nuke gets launched all the players hear "Nuclear Launch Detected" in that oh so sexy voice. So unless you know some pretty uber hax, you're not getting away with nuking someone.

No you don't cause the robot shoots the nukes like it was bullets. So they never launched. Just fired.

I'm not convinced the voice would recognize the difference.

Well..its explained that when someone launches a nuke, the radars catch it due to *insert techno babel here about nuclear launches*, the Robot literally stomps over that and just uses Nuclear bombs exactly the same way a Tank uses shells, so the radars cannot pick up the nuke cause *insert techno babel here about nuclear launches* does not happen. And yes its intercontinel and can pick up targets.

The voice would never recognize cause it would never show up in the radar.

I can't imagine that the voice would just shut up all of a sudden because the nuke is suddenly coming from a Metal Gear instead of a silo. Besides, I haven't played MGS4 yet, but I doubt they have cloak and even with that the voice still knows who's doing what.

Now the only real question I got is how are the invading forces getting on US soil? Boat or planes, not bloody likely. Spacial insertion is improbable. Al Quedea did it right and used our own immigration system and the lack of effort of ceratin elements that have since been whipped into jerkish frenzy.

If the amatuers of Iraq have caused the US problems, then imagine what a bunch of paranoids who still think that the goberment invasion is just around the corner. REMEMBER THE WOLVERINES!

The only real threat to the United States is the deleation of the first word of its title(second if you count the). Unless of course the Mexican cartels decide to invade.

I started wondering if it could be invaded while playing World in Conflict.

The main problems with invading any country are its geography, the population, and the Army.

1) The United States is a massive place, the third or fourth largest in the world, depending on which set of figures you use. This presents a problem as invading country's armies are often stretched too thinly to be effective. Unlike the two larger countries, America is relatively warm, compared to the freezing winters that defeated the French and Germans invading Russia and the Americans in their failed attempt to invade Canada in the war of 1812. The Rocky mountains would be a problem as well, but only if resistance fighters set up there and attacked the surrounding area.

Overall, I believe that with a large enough army, the size of the US would not present too great a problem.

2) The population of the US would be a massive problem. Thanks to the misinterpretation of the US constitution (It actually gives the right to bear arms to 'A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State'), many Americans own guns and are very proficient in their use. The Americans in general have a very patriotic attitude, and the rabid patriotism in their media, which is especially noticable on FOX news, is reminiscent of the patriotism in Nazi Germany. This would likely motivate them to fight to defend their homeland. Their use of actual tactics would be debatable, as they might try to copy Rambo, but they would certainly gather into small groups of resistance fighters. Resistance fighters are always a headache for invading troops: The Eldelweiss Pirates in France killed the chief of the Cologne Gestapo in 1944, and many other groups sprang up in Europe during World War II. The American resistance fighters would be far better armed, and would likely join up with the local National Guard units.

In conclusion, the resistance would be a massive problem for an invading force.

3) The US Army is one of the best in the world, and one of the better equipped (This has improved vastly since Vietnam). They also have around a million soldiers, which could be put to great use and their numbers would be bolstered by Resistance fighters. They also know the are they'll be fighting in well, which is a massive benefit in urban combat.


In conclusion, I believe that if America was invaded, the invaders would face a massive struggle against the US Army forces currently in the country, but if they defeated them, they would be in their own Vietnam-esce war, with constant guerilla attacks. What do you think?

1. you forgot the National Guard, and the reserves.

2. Patriotism? Where's the research on that? It's more greed. "Get off my property, you (fill in blank here)" than patriotism. We will repell all invaders just because it would mess up our lifestyle, rather than patriotism.

3. I dunno the stats, but I believe you are combining all four armed forces numbers. Guess what? Air Force and Half the Navy are not exactly "soldiers" Trust me, I know.

WHat do I think? Not really planned out there. While Geography is always an issue in any land based war, these days it's all about the nuking from a distance. And never underestamite the power of apathy.

Not really, nukes are prohibited by the UN. If someone ever used a nuclear weapon, they would probably be screwed.

Multiple chians of thoughts...

1) No. America has nukes, if it escalates, nukes go up, shit goes down. Game over. Invading America would trigger that process. A curious game. The only way to win is not to play. This applies to most countries with nukes or alliances to countries with nukes.

2) If it were some sort of soldiers only no-nuke contest probably no. America has allies that would jump to its aid without a second though. The country in question would probably look like the bad guy and no one would want to side with it seeing the shit go down. It would be one country against the world.

3) If all the world sided against America in a no nuke contest, I don't know, the U.N begin a conquest of America, I think there are groups (or Aslums) or people who believe this. Than maybe. But they'd win nothing. The country they win would have nearly every man women and child shot who died for their country and every man, women and child would take people down with them with all the guns they had. The country would be reduced to ruble after the intence bombing from both sides and a lot of stuff would be torched to prevent it falling into other hands. Maybe, but not quite.

Basically its not worth the hastle.

ur ideas are meh. I reckon it can be done. What i'd do is use a spy organisation (doesnt matter which 1) to turn million of gun totting red necks on their own country. Wouldn't be that hard. There goes ur resisitance and som of the army. and then i use our lil nuclear sub to nuke certain politicly key regions, some military strongholds and etc, no-one would no who fired it, its a sub. missiles from the sea dont have obvious nationalities, and the nukes arent gonna have GB flags on the side. That would be dumb. If i wanted to distract the sates i could publicly blame russia, there not gonna check, and theyl probably nuke it to smithereens which will nicely dispose of them. After the russian retaliations il probably just be able to stroll in and put a flag down. Job done

I am sorry but the media were willing accomplices to the Bush Administration post 9/11. It usually takes the media a good 4 years of work to get some angst on a president and don't worry they will turn on obama in the same pace.

1. That is a hardcore "spy organisation" (doesn't matter which 1 of course), red neck republicans fighting the united states army. Genius.

2. You couldn't fly a cisna within a mile of a US air base or restricted air space without F18s up your ass so your "lil nuclear sub" must be as equally made of win as your "spy organisation" (whichever 1 we're going with of course) to just mosy over to the US shoreline and let loose it's stealth untrackable nukes to all our "Strongholds" and "polticly key regions?"
