I know I'm late jumping on this bandwagon but holy god.

I don't think I have ever seen or played a more broken game. The aiming system is absolute shit, the fact it is basically a platformer without actual platforming controls is asinine, the enemies use cheap gimmicks to make the game "difficult" (unlimited rapid firing homing rockets from the roofs anyone?) and the stupid narrator guy who keeps saying the same shit over and over. The AI is terrible and that in conjunction with the shitty aiming system leads to dead allies and civilians and subsequent firefights with said allies because you killed to many of them.

I just... I can't even believe this game exists in this condition. It plays like an alpha build. I think Alone in the Dark is a better game than this and that is saying something. I literally broke my CD in half when I beat it just so there was one less copy in the world. And Crackdown 2 is worse than that.

Sorry. I just needed to rage to people who might understand. lol. Are there any games like this that you have come across? Or do you agree or disagree with me about Crackdown?

Did you enjoy the first one?
I never played the sequel but I had a ton of fun with the first one but never had the chance(or was spared) to play it.

I actually haven't played the first one. And after beating Crackdown 2 I doubt I ever will. The 2nd one felt like half of a game. The ending was so abrupt and unsatisfying.

I only ever played a demo version of Crackdown 2 and I had a headache in the first ten minutes. I called out that it was going to be bullshit and sure enough it was incredibly bullshit.

The first one is fun, its kinda like how SW:Unleashed 2 sucked and was short but the first one was more polished and had more depth.

Crackdown 1 is much much much better. You really should try it. Crackdown 2 only exists in a world where moose rhymes with orange and vests have sleeves. At least thats how I feel.

Crapdown 2?

[sub][sub][sub]As you can see, I never make puns. For good reason.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

I've never actually played either. Sandbox games aren't generally my thing, though if Crackdown (the first) is really so decent I might have to give it a look after all, since I do like silly superhero games...

The sequel was received worse than the first, though, and quite a few people said it didn't really have a reason to exist when held up against the first one. So... there's that.

You're raging about the game but fail to mention the stupid zombies/infected/whatevers? Curious.

It's been a while since I played it but I do remember the first game being a lot better than the second. I think I managed an hour of Crackdown 2 before going to the memory-erasing clinic to try and get an appointment (they were fully booked unfortunately). I'm not sure if it could even be called a glorified DLC pack.

I figured that was pretty self evident. lol. It was just an all around terrible game.

Crackdown 1 is made by a different developer. Much Much better game. Definitely play it IMO. Crackdown 2 is a piece of shit. I can't believe you actually played it long enough to beat it. Im sorry for your loss (of time, that you cannot recover)!
Me too. lol. I just kept hoping it would get better. And it never did. Then it ended.

The first one was awesome, number two was bullshit. Hope number 3 is better. Looking at Saints Row 4 as a crackdown type game, so play that. :) Or Prototype one or two.

Crackdown was a fantastic game. Crackdown 2 was horrible. Prototype was better than Crackdown (at least to me), and while the sequel wasn't nearly as good, it wasn't as much of drop in quality as Crackdown 2 was.

Yea, I can remember playing with the sound at a whisper because of the stupid head honcho guy never shutting up. It was fun to throw a guy from a roof and hit a guy on another roof though.

First one's better, which was conceived by David Jones who also created GTA. C2 was by a diffirent company which just zombified the first game.

The first one is a fun, if flawed gem. The second one is basically the same game with a few new items and a lot of new bad ideas.

That should help calibrate opinions on it. A lot of Crackdown fans seemed to agree back when it came out.

Gotta agree with the TC. I gloss over it myself, mostly on grounds that it's like pointing out COD is a FPS or Mario titles involve mushrooms.

Also partially because I keep facepalming in hopes I can get that memory out, but...

I remember playing the demo of the first game and having a pretty fun time. And unsurprisingly, a lot of people seem to have loved the full game.

I sorta wondered why Crackdown 2 didn't resonate as well with people.

I guess that explains it. :p

I thought the gameplay was miles better in SW: Force Unleased 2 compared to the first. But the story/length both sucked in the second.

I honestly feel the same way with Crackdown 2. The Gameplay feels solid, they just sorta fucked the world/enemies up.
I liked the gameplay of the first one a bit more. They have the right idea make the force/saber buttons part of he QTE so it feels like you are not doing a QTE.

The first one was great. But two was screwed up.
Hoping that someone will grab this and make something amazing for the new hardware.

What has happened to Davey Jones atm anyway?

I never played Crackdown 2 because I presumed just from the premise that they had really dropped the ball between the making of the first game and this. Because the original Crackdown is a superb game. But it seems like the developers of the sequel completely forgot that the core element of the game is that you take down a hierarchy of criminal bosses, and just decided to make some crappy story about the mutants.
