Yet more proof that gaming and religion can, in fact, get along, despite what extremists on either side say. You don't have to give up one for the other, and anyone who forces you to do so is quite frankly a massive dick. I've seen even fundamentalist churches with game consoles in their youth group areas, and I remember playing Soul Calibur 2, of all games, with the youth group leader, in the church! In college, after Hurricane Katrina, the campus ministry held a Guitar Hero tournament (with beer) in the campus bar to help raise money for relief efforts. One of the priests in charge of the campus ministry is a proven huge Star Wars geek, and sometimes referenced Star Wars in his sermons. In college, I was a founding member of a student-run ministry group that did something very similar to GameChurch, but with a broader scope. Sadly, in-fighting among us founding members doomed it after a short time, but I liked the idea.
Long story short, it's OK to be a religious geek, and don't let anyone tell you different!
