First Crysis Remastered screenshots look as disappointing as they can get

Microsoft store has leaked the game's first screenshots, as well as its release date. And, unfortunately, this remaster does not look as hot as we'd hoped.

Especially when there’s a new mod out now that will actually look better. Plus, it’s free.

What they should’ve done is remake the game using the latest Cryengine -

But sadly that doesn’t appear to be the case. I suppose we’ll have to leave it up to the modding community to once again create something the devs should’ve done in the first place.

Here's my situation on this, I think I might get this for the sake that it might be far more compatible and stable on my PC, because the one that I bought and played from GOG.com has some technical issues that I had to fix.

So, just a straight port of the game to a newer version of Cryengine then? I mean, unless they were massively stupid it should not longer have the "Crytek bet on 9Ghz single core CPUs" problem anymore, so it should at least run better on modern hardware. And I suppose modders could come in to improve visual fidelity further.

But yeah, it's still coming off rather minimum effort.
