Crysis Resolution Problem

This is a problem my friend has been having while playing Crysis. He recently bought a new computer ($1700 BTW), and his new monitor is 23" 1920x1080 resolution.

So he goes to play Crysis, and everything is on Very High, with AA on 2x, without a problem, but when he switched to 1920x1080 resolution for the game, the screen looked compressed, which I know it shouldn't. Any tips?

Also, he's not sure whether to use POM or AF, so any opinions there would be nice.

I've heard that it's possible to mod the game to get both POM and AF at the same time, and if so, is there an easy way to do it?

One more thing. Is the Ultra High Quality Mod worth getting (does it cause a lot of FPS issues)?

it's the FoV, it needs to be changed.

also, POM is better than AF. AF is just a filter, POM is a displacement map for occlusion.

...unless you mean a different POM.

Also worth mentioning crysis will almost always run like shit. It looks really nice, however it's also poorly optimized. So no probably not worth it, for the mod.

EDIT: possibly helpful link:

How would you change the FoV (Field of View?)?

Also, I'm talking about Parallax Occlusion Mapping, which is automatically enabled when the settings are on Very High, correct?

If all else fails, lower the resolution a bit. You won't notice, and you can play in between experiments.

changing FoV is in the link in my edit.

and I don't know, I never cared to max out crysis. I played it on whatever was default :p I just know the filtering would screw with the displacement map (Displacement maps use a texture map to change geometry) filtering would change the texture map...then either A) wouldn't line up and the occlusion wouldn't match the new filtered textures or B) it would filter all maps, and change the geometry in weird ways.

I'm leaning towards A, since you mentioned a mod to do both. It'd just take a little tweaking then. But a retexture is possible...*shrug* ... >.> sorry I was rambling
