Cthulhu: Shut up about him on random threads

I have wanted to say this for so long, don't care how much hate I get, I just need to say it.

Cthulhu, shut up about him/ it. It is not funny, not cool and quite dull. Just putting his name on every thread as some people do.

Most people here constantly say 'Shut it with the memes' 'I don't get involved in pointless memes' and so on. So why do people all carry on with this even more annoying one? It isn't even funny, I've seen all the 4chan stuff, but I don't have an urge to constantly spurt his name across threads like squirty cream across a pie.

In all honesty, he is awesome. And the fact he is almost 80 years old and still going strong,fair play to him. Just look at him!

He is cool, yes. But he does not need you to constantly call his name out randomly on threads.

Sweet, i didn't know we could talk about Cthulhu on here!

I hang out on Role Playing forums most of the time, and Cthulhu has been an established part of that culture for years, so it never occurred to me how far he had penetrated the internet beyond that.

I haven't really seen any threads about any Lovecraft stuff on here though.

I've never seen Cthulhu being randomly mentioned in a way which makes it annoying. If he is mentioned, it is always in context with the thread. So I don't see what the big deal is.
