Swearing is generally considered classless, yeah? Well, for some, that is wrong. When some people curse, it sounds downright elegant. Maybe it's an author, an actor, or the shopkeep at that mom and pop store you frequent on occasion (while I watch from my windowless van across the street, sweating, excited, unbeknownst to you, dear specimen).

Who can say otherwise distasteful things and make them sound magnificent?

Say what you will about Samuel Jackson and his mastery of "************," but Morgan Freeman in Wanted proved to the world that he could speak it better than any other man could. Also, playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, I found myself shocked at how Patrick Stewart can say "*****" with such dignity.

Everyone from the northern parts of Norway (Nordlendinger) have a natural talent for this.

In the UK swearing (cursing) is generally looked upon as a way to make speaking mroe colourful. If you mix some great swearing in you words then it can be extremely funny. It's only normally frowned upon if you are bad at it (eg f this , f that, f f f everything) or if its infront of your mum.

Michael Caine has a sort of class about him when he swears... I guess it doesn't seem as classless because he is a genuine cockney and we all know, no-one can say "you fucking ****" better than a cockney...

Swearing in French. It makes you sound like an artistic tosser(Yes I'm streotyping the French, but who hasn't?) and the person has no idea of what you just called him.

Alternatively just cover your words with more complicated ones in a smug, British, high-brow accent: "How very well dare you! I shall eviscerate your subconscious via a higly splendiferous assault of my mind!"

Swearing being class-less is generally an American thing. The rest of us tend to just use it as a means of emphasis.

Oh and Stephen Fry is really good at it. He's done a documentary piecey thing on it even.

Fuckbucket.

Motherwanking tossbasket.

The former is Yahtzee's, the latter one I semiconsciously strung together recently.

I'm told I can pull it off, but I push alot of more elaborate vocabulary in there and predictably; I don't hear myself talk really.

But yes there are those who truly can master and wield the big guns of the linguistic gun rack like a professional.

If used too much it can lose its meaning such as with 12 year olds on xbox live, but I tend to swear sparingly to maximize the effect when I do use them.

And for anyone who thinks swearing can't be anything other than crude:

"Fuckin'... BOO!"

There are indeed some brilliant examples of scottish cursing but as the above quote shows: there are just as many terrible examples.

Edit: By quote I am referring to my post.

I like to make random and barely understandable words that make people sit there and scratch their heads while simultaneously laughing.

When I'm not being creative though, my favorite is either 'Douchewagon' or 'Fucknugget'.

I'm also a fan of 'Douchewaffle' or 'Cockwaffle'.

Seconded. Us here in Central Norway's (Sør-Trøndelag) got the hang of it as well, if I might say so.
