Daredevil's First Costume Revealed at NYCC

The Man Without Fear dons a familiar early look in first image from Marvel's upcoming Netflix series

Fans at NYCC got their first look at Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and first Netflix series, [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/135267-Vincent-DOnofrio-Joins-Daredevil-As-The-Kingpin] but it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer to know how The Man Without Fear dresses for work.

Instead, Marvel revealed an image showing Cox wearing what is believed to be a makeshift suit Murdock uses prior to fully assuming the more familiar Daredevil identity: an all-black fabric suit with a black half-face mask that covers his eyes. The look should be familiar to fans; it's extremely similar both to a proto-costume depicted in Frank Miller's Man Without Fear storyline and suit worn by the character in the TV movie Trial of The Incredible Hulk. Created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett in 1964, Daredevil follows the exploits of blind New York Attorney Matt Murdock who uses his super-heightened remaining sense to moonlight as an acrobatic costumed-crimefighter. The new Netflix venture will be the first in a series that will also include Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Alias: Jessica Jones; culminating in a crossover event called The Defenders.

I still have a little shred of hope that this will take after Mark Waid's spectacular run.

Didn't we already get pictures of Cox as Murdoch? Am I missing something here about having to wait to see him?

I'm kinda half sure that this costume is from the "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear" series from back in the 90's. That was the first comic series I read so i'm really really REALLY into this!

I'm really excited about this, more so than any comic book movie so far. Daredevil is a personal favorite.

It looks like the costume he wore in Miller's origin story for him. Was that what TMWF was? I don't remember the title.

His standard costume looks like it has no eyes, though with comic characters it's hard to tell if such "eye" holes are opaque. In Murdoch's case, it's safe to assume they are, since he doesn't need to see out.

But we're seeing that here, and that's promoted as the "instead" by this article.
Oh I see what you mean. No, this isn't his proper costume. This is a makeshift costume he'll use prior to making a full blown superhero costume. At some point presumably he'll done the traditional red suit with DD on the chest and demon horns on a helmet, that's what we're waiting to see.

Aw, I was hoping it was gonna be red.
And I don't like that his eyes are covered, yes, I know he's blind, I guess I'm just a stickler for the old costume.
Oh, well, still going to watch it, hope it turns out well.

Guessing this is purely temporary, quite like the Pyjama style ones Peter Parker wears in the Raimi series. Should be half decent.
