na cern invented the web.. slight technical difference.

quick history of the internet as we know it today:

american military reserach: routers, udp, some other old protocls, datagrammes(i think), merc, celular networking. basicaly the hardware and bare bones protocols.

CERN: the web, tcpip, http.

sun microsystems: java and active server scripts

novel: ipx

microsoft: stole everything and made it their own.. oh and they invented asp and .net.

-----------

on the point about the beetles.. scary stuff. some one tell peta imediately! free the beetles.....
Firstly, thanks.

Secondly, your fucking right, we need to tell PETA as soon as possible, hopefully they'll get some hot models naked and parade them around for the sake of the beetles.

Finally, a good reason to have PETA in our lives.
yeh yeh.. sounds good. a few good looking lasses wearing nowt but lettuce leaves wired up to brain control devices aught to make a good statement to the us military.. well it should get their atention any way ;-)

Next thing you know, it'll be building giant bipedal robots that can stealth launch nuclear weapons or something!
So, our future military could consist of a bunch of bears with rocket launchers and laser vision?

Awesome.

This might sound lame, but I had this idea for dead people. stimulating muscles with electricity from a transitter. in theory, if the body gets the nutrients it needs it can keep living without the brain. it's not slavory if there's no conciousness. and dispite questionable ethics involved with animating corpses, you can keep a lot of people alive when all the dangerous jobs are replaced by shells of people

Wait, those were real live beetles? HOLY FUCK they were fucking huge...what kind of fucking beetle is that size? I was in a guitar shop today and there was one on a guitar case, and it was smaller than a biro lid. Have DARPA been genetically modifying these things aswell?

Poor beatle I wonder what it feels like to have no control over your body. Could we use this technology on Pandas to make them reproduce?

So we either have a Gamer future to look forward to, or a Surrogates future. Yay.
On another note...expect a PETA protest in 5,4,3,2....

Let them protest. Their minds are ours now. Their animals are ours now. We control all! *evil laughter*

*clears throat, straightens tie* But really, this is awesome. Ethical issues abound!

Pretty soon, you will be able to remotely pilot your beetle to annoy the fuck out of people walking down the street. Ah technology.
