I'm sure he has lots of emotions running through his head right now after winning this prestigious award.

If only his face were made up of enough polygons to express them all.

Nice MLP gif!

OT: Congrats to the guy. I have not played his games. How are they?

Oh good, that means ten thousand imitators are going to spring up now and we're going to get a bunch more games with the interactivity of a DVD chapter menu and writing that's like a bunch of TV shows and movies had a three lane pileup.

Because if games are known for one thing, it's how much they're like movies and never let the player actually interact with shit, just crack off a cutscene where the character interacts with the shit. Yeah.

I can't wait to see Matt, Pat, and Woolies reaction to this! I'm more interested in that than the award itself.
They would likely think well that is wacky France for you... The only reason he is getting the award as stated is because he stayed in France instead of movie operations to a country that would give him better benefits pretty much... Honestly if I was Cage which thankfully I am not I would rather recieve more money...
Holy cow, when France has to literally bribe content creators with their medal of honor JUST TO KEEP THEM IN FRANCE you know things are crazy....

It's okay though, it could be worse. They could have given a major peace award to an American president before he's done anything to deserve it. Luckily we know that will never happen.

That seems a bit much for merely "sticking with France." I mean, granted it's the lowest order of the Legion of Honor (not like they gave him the Grand Cross or w/e), but still...

On the upside, it seems at least in France, they take the gaming industry seriously enough to attach merit to a developer staying loyal to them.

I like his quicktime events simulators that he seems to consistently put out, but damn does he spouts nonesense when he opens his mouth. He should have been given this award with a cavewat of not speaking in public again.

I guess this is the reward you get when you make video games where the female characters get put into creepy attempted rape scenarios on a regular basis. I think the count for Beyond was three times? I'm not really following the logic that leads to a national honor for Cage.

Remember kids, receiving undeserved awards is a failure of the game designer.

It's called French logic obviously and it involves emotions! Something people not made out of polygons will never understand.
Actually if you 2 were to read the article rather than jumping on the French hate brigade you would see that he was being awarded because he has kept his studio in France. At a time when so many studios abandon their nation for American tax breaks I can see why France considers it commendable for him to stay loyal to his own nation. I know I'd like to see more Australian devs/publishers as well as other nations, kind of sick of having nothing but American games with a few Japanese games to spice the place up. (Yes I know DICE is from Sweeden and other devs are in Canada etc, but the publishers are usually either American or Japanese, which influences the games made).
Why would you call it French hate, I find this situation silly in a positive sense ;) and yes they mentioned keeping his studio in France in addition to success of his games. If it was only the case of paying taxes to French government I believe UbiSoft's owners should also receive Legion of Honour.

Ah, I misread the tone, nevermind :)
I'd say Ubisoft doesn't qualify as their a larger and I believe multinational company (correct me if I'm wrong, I do know they started in France) so they may not qualify (too big to single out one person at least).

I thought Michel Ancel and Shigeru Miyamoto had been awarded this order before.
