It's the Atom or the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott.

DC have said that it's someone who hasn't been introduced into DCs new 52 universe yet. That narrows down the list considerably to a handful of iconic names who are going to be introduced in the next few months; Captain Marvel, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), and the Atom.

Atom is the only one who hasn't appeared in or out of costume. Captain Marvel almost certainly isn't a candidate, since he's a kid half the time any relationship is going to spawn some awkward questions. Alan Scott may be The answer, but he has appeared in Earth 2, just not in costume.

I think DC have seriously missed a trick here in not making Wonder Woman gay. It makes so much sense it's bizarre that it hasn't happened yet.

Oh, and Aquaman's very straight. He's the only DC superhero with a smoking hot wife right now for one thing.

DC isn't going to do it to their two main money maker, batman and superman. Aqua-man would be considered a cop-out for obvious reasons,and green arrow would also be a cop-out because he is not that well know by the general populace. This matters because the whole point of the the DC reboot was to broaden the audience. This leaves us with Green lantern, and flash. Green lantern having recently been made in to a movie, albeit a shit one, would fit the need of broad recognition also the military background would give him a real world tie-in IE: don't ask don't tell being removed. Lastly flash, having not been all that familiar with him ,I haven't read any flash comics, I cant comment on him. So my best guess is Green Lantern.

For people saying Aquaman and Flash: Aquaman in his current run is married happily and they've made sure to let us know that exact fact. Flash has just begun (re)pursuing his wife before the reboot Iris, so it's not going to be either of them.

A few people have mentioned the Atom, but parts of Identity Crisis and Blackest Night are still in canon with the reboot where longtime girlfriend of the Atom is an important point -because- she's his long time (ex)girlfriend. So he's out

The major money seems to be on Alan Scott (Golden Age Green Lantern) as his story went from married father of two, to single multimedia mogul who lives alone in his fabulous penthouse.

Batman though. Making Batman gay? What would that actually change, that people would have a problem against? So Bats and Vicki Vale never happened? Tali Al Ghul never got it on with him?
Uh, big whoop. While significantly large story arcs, they aren't exactly synonymous with Batman. I mean, you can't picture Supes without Lois. But does Batman have a definitive love interest? Not really. I mean, it would make a lot of sense if Batman's past and post-reboot flings with Cat-Woman were one-sided affairs. There never was any real chemistry there anyway, just poorly disguised porn.

Actually in Grant Morrison's Heart of Hush storyline Bruce admitted that he was very much in love with Catwoman and always had been. They have also shown more of this in later issues where he has has risked his reputation, his company and more when he has been in relationships with her.

And while his relationship with Talia hasn't been the synonymous with the Batman mythos his current Robin is the result of him sleeping with Talia so it makes little sense for it to suddenly be retconned away.

How significant are the romance stories for Green Arrow, or Martian Manhunter, or Zatanna, or Wally West, Ted Kord, Guy Gardner, Booster Gold(I could totally see him as gay), or Captain Marvel?

Green Arrow's on and off relationship with Black Canary is a defining part of both characters

Zatanna's backstory involves her failed relationship with John Constantine who they just brought back into the DCU

Martian Manhunter's entire angst comes from him losing his wife and child in the battles that killed the martians

Guy Gardner's most recent character arc involved him finally acting like a grown up and realizing his feeling for Ice (granted they backed off that since the reboot a bit)

Booster Gold is a notorious ladies man both in the suit and out of it

Ted Kord had a cyber love affair with Barbra Gordon that left him both sorry they never truly got together when he died but also devastated Barbara to no small ends.

Wally West's love for Donna Troy brought her back from the dead once (granted that story and the New Teen Titans and The Titans stories never happened so he's a good choice too for the gay character.)

And the reboot is rewriting Captain Marvel... er I'm sorry Shazam, as an asshole teenager who possess the powers of magic so I doubt they care to make him gay really. But really he's thirteen so dealing with him being gay would be interesting and your right, romance has never really been a focus on his characters.

Sure, I totally agree that making Superman gay would be a bad move, but no one said it's going to be superman, so your point lacks applicability since not everyone is Superman.
In fact, DC said that it was a character not yet introduced in the New 52.

In regards to Aquaman I was rather impressed how they recognized what the "joke" about Aquaman was and referenced it and proved it wrong. People make jokes based on the Super-Friends show but in reality he's super-strong, can fly (they dropped it to Hulk-like leaping in New 52), and has a level of invulnerability too. He's also deeply in love with his wife Mera, who have only recently been reunited thanks to Blackest Night (which is partly still in canon.)

Green Arrow... hadn't heard that yet. But DC has revised it's statement to say "Iconic" and not introduced in the New 52 yet.

Which once again leads me to Alan Scott who they have rewritten from scratch even making him an actual Green Lantern rather than something separate from the rest of the Green Lantern Corps.

How much do you want to bet they make the Superman of Earth 2 gay. His costume already looks pretty gay.

It can't be Barry Allen.
It's probably Green Arrow because he's no longer in a relationship with Canary.
It's not Batman since he's banging Catwoman and has a kid with Talia...that and Bob Kane would s*** himself in his grave.
It's not Superman for the same reason it's not Batman.
Not sure if Nightwing is Iconic but...yeah, could see him coming out.
Would be funny if it were the Penguin or Grodd or someone.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter as long as he's not Bunker from Teen Titans gay. Kate Kane is a fantastic example of Gay but not flaming.

I know which one it is, it's "Guys Marvel is having a gay wedding with two of their minor characters from Alpha Flight, it's like Canada's Avengers/X-Men and they only really appear as support characters in those comics they used to have their own series but c'mon they're Canadian but this is really huge guys we need to stop them 'cause Avengers is making so much money and we have to make someone teh gayz or we won't be able to make Booster Gold the movie where Draco Malfoy wears a suit made of CG so he looks like a blurry floating head with lame 90's ski goggles! My money is on Green Arrow. Why? In the development of his character, DC created him to be a counterpart to Green Lantern when it came to socio-political issues. While GL represented primarily conservative viewpoints, Green Arrow represented the the more liberal ones. It would fit that he would turn out to be homosexual in that case.

I'm exaggerating; it's nowhere near that bad. I just don't see why it needs to be in the opening caption bit of every issue.

Her series is fairly interesting, post-reboot. Mostly because they're trying some weird stuff with non-sequential story-telling, and partially because it looks like they're setting her up to clash with Batman at some point.

It's Robin. The iconic, always with Batman, character is ripe for some kind of Rescue Romance, transference thing.
Probably why they made Batgirl join the "team" back in the day.
Or they might adjust Wonder Woman--who, I just remembered, grew up surrounded by the type--to like girls as well as her boyfriend-in-distress.
