To be honest, I never really noticed any bugs... And I played the game on the 360 since September 6th.
But seeing how other people are complaining, I guess it does need some patches.

Can't wait for Ryder White's campaign, though.
Try the PC version, shitty console port and HUGE online issues, lucky if you can play for 10 minutes consistence without getting disconnected OR having the game crush.

I still got a bug where I can't complete Exodus, I kill all the zombie's and the radio is meant to be pressable, but it's not.

It's nice to see a developer work more on polishing the original game, rather than push out DLC right out the bat. It gives a good sense that they're not just trying to grub for money.

Not really trying to knock developers here (well maybe a little), but I think it says something about the state of the industry when the first thing every dev team does after they release a game is to fix all of the bugs. With the size of games these days I know this is pretty much inevitable but sometimes I wonder how much of this is because the developers know they can just patch things later.

Really, how can this game be any bad?
Oh dear. Now it seems I need to play this game, and find out how to do this.

Loving this game. Lots of fun. I am playing on the PC and the only issues I have had at all were the autosave ones. Haven't lost any data or anything like that, but it would be nice if I didn't have to collect some quests again each time I go into the game. Great game though, lots of fun.

Haven't noticed many bugs in Dead Island, although there are several gameplay flaws (Horrible UI, Wonky auto-aim that can't be deactivated) that I wish they'd correct through patches.

I'd also like an alternative to the "You die, you lose money" spawning system, since it hardly feels like a punishment, but that seems really unlikely.

I know what bug you need to fix, you need to make it so on pc, THE MIC ISN'T ALWAYS ON!

Can't play on team speak, or anything else because they use the default mic, and if you turn it down on steam it turns it down on your pc.

Why is it not the norm that developers put DLC on hold until bugs are fixed? This shouldn't be news, but sadly it is...
Agreed completely. Was gonna come in here to specifically point-out Borderlands, a game where they pushed-out DLC while sitting on a patch that fixed a lot of major issues. My response? "Fuck you, I'm not putting more money into a broken product." I can definitely respect Techland's stance on holding DLC until the game we've already bought has been fixed.

My friend and I have put nearly 40 hours into this game and the only bug I encountered was during one quest, the game didn't load properly and froze both of our games (we were playing through Live). A simple reset and everything was fine. Did the quest and had no issues.

Aside from a few texture loading problems here and there (and the glitch mentioned above), I haven't noticed anything wrong with the game. In fact, its my game of the year thus far.

I didn't realize there were so many bugs that needed to be addressed. There were certain annoyances throughout playing it since release, but they weren't bugs. After reading through what they fixed with this patch, I was happy to see certain changes/fixes. Mainly how players interact with ladders, especially when other characters were already on 'em, the ability to pause the game if all players paused together (more co-op games should include this feature), the in-menu item highlighter, and other players being unable to pick up thrown items for five minutes. The only issue with the last change was that it came much too late for me to make proper use of.

The only major issue I still have with the gameplay (ignoring the flaws with animation and 'story') is the "balancing" of characters... because it doesn't exist.

So, they release a Dev version for PC AND its incredibly buggy. *GASP!* Remember when you couldn't do that? Yeah, lets go back to then.

I can honestly say I never really noticed any bugs. I was too busy hacking the walking dead up to be bug spotting though.

However it's nice to hear people taking some pride in their game and fixing bugs before going for the DLC.

As Braeden said, this should be the norm but sadly isn't so it is good to see.
It's nice to see that they're putting a good amount of effort into fixing the bugs.

Also, I have one question...what DLC? Is there any particular ones planned, or are they talking about DLC in general?

Please spoiler tag it if appropriate, I haven't finished the game yet.

From reading the DI forums it seems that there are a lot, a LOT of bugs, many game breakers.
Srsly, if you haven't checked it out go and observe the wailing and gnashing of teeth over there.

The handling of the launch was pretty sloppy, day one dlc bonus items not ready, day one patches MIA, the scandal over the "feministwhore" code placeholder, the Steam debacle.

But screw all that, it's still an excellent game, it's hella fun and I guess I've been pretty lucky in avoiding bugs, only one quest was a bit buggy for me and a reset sorted it out.

Kudos to them for concentrating on polishing their product, they know the game is a hit and there are some quite murmurings about GoTY which for smaller players like Techland and Deep Silver is a great boost so it's in their interest to get the game as tight as possible.
