Dead Space Prequel... on the Wii?

For those of you who keep informed with news here at the escapist, you may have noticed this a while ago.

Now I was just doing some browsing on gamespot and I came across this little beauty.

I felt the need to inform the community here about this and get their opinions on it, I for one loved Dead Space, I played the PC version, but I gotta say, im not to thrilled about this prequel being Exclusive to the god damn Wii.

Anyone share my disappointment?

I knew something like this was coming but it's true I had a lot of fun with Dead Space but I have no intention of buying a wii to get the prequel. Ultimatley I think it'll be hard to make a successful Dead Space wii game but I think the idea is that this game is just for the Wii and it has no connection to the rest of the games.

You never know it might be so scary that you wii your pants.... ha ha ha.. haaaa

I'm just sad it's a railshooter. I would have liked it if it wasn't.

No since a) it'll just be dead space but with a different name and level design. Just like they did for overlord.
and b) people keep complaining that the wii lacks any shooters and dead space will help correct that (although that argument is getting weaker with RE4 and The conduit recently coming out).

I think the only games good on the Wii can be rail shooters. Then you can use those plastic guns and make pew pew noises.
