And 2016 continues to mostly suck.
Sonic, the worst thing to happen in furry fandom, is getting a movie.
He already had one in the 90s, which honestly wasn't all that bad. He's also had three cartoons (two of which were dumb, one of which was actually really good) and has the longest running video-game based comic book series.
EDIT:

Technically, the "movie" distributed by the now defunct ADV, was just two OVA episodes edited together. Originally they were pilot episodes released in Japan, 1996 that were never picked up. And then ADV picked up the license in 1999, though why Sega didn't bother to use the same cast they had the time when Sonic Adventure 1 was out is beyond me. The dubbing for Sonic the Movie was horribly miscasts. The action scenes were awesome, but what were the dub directors' thinking? Sega rarely ever mentions this continuity, and wants to forget about it apparently. If you asked me, I rather forget about Sonic X or Sonic Underground.

This movie coming out I don't have a lot of faith in; either make it an all CGI film, or use traditional animation. Because this type of hybrid rarely works; the focus will almost always be on the human characters (Sonic X suffered from this the most), and the CG is only going to look like crap within a few years making it age horribly in all aspects. Sony's film division I trust less and less nowadays, so color me not excited.

I completely forgot about Sonic X, meaning there were 4 Sonic cartoons (Adventures of Sonic, Sonic "SatAM", Sonic Underground, and Sonic X).

They shouldn't even have humans besides Robotnik, let alone have them be the focus. People don't watch Sonic for some random twatbag kid, they watch it for Sonic (then again Hollywood always seems to screw that up).

Far Cry already had a movie, and there is talks of making another one.

Anyways, what's wrong with them finally making a Sonic movie? We've already has films based on Hitman and Silent Hill, Assassin's Creed is releasing next month, Tomb Raider already had two films and is getting a reboot, Resident Evil has been running for over a decade, Disney was banking on Prince of Persia being the spiritual successor to PotC, Wing Commander was actually good, so what is wrong with a Sonic the Hedgehog movie happening?

That one doesn't count. Was purposefully made to be as bad as possible. As to Sonic the Hedgehog, it's a dying series that just needs to be over.
