Deadpool Director to Helm Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

Deadpool director Tim Miller left development of Deadpool 2 due to "creative differences".

Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool, recently left the set of Deadpool 2 citing The Hollywood Reporter [http://www.indiewire.com/2016/10/deadpool-2-director-leaves-film-creative-differences-ryan-reynolds-1201739392/] is reporting that Miller has shifted studios to Sony Pictures, where he will be working on Sonic the Hedgehog. That's right, the guy who brought us the super R-Rated Deadpool is now working on the family friendly Sonic movie.

We don't know much about the movie right now, but have heard that Sony's plan is to make a hybrid CG-animated/live-action comedy family film. Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, who created Golan the Insatiable, are writing the script, while The Fast and The Furious's Neal H. Moritz will be producing.

Tim Miller will be joined by Blur Studio collaborator Jeff Fowler, who is set to direct the film. Miller himself will be an executive producer.

There better be scene where Amy wants to sit on Sonic's face

Otherwise, I will rate it awfully on Rotten Tomatoes

Hybrid CG/Live action....?

I mean, no one thought it was going to be good but, you could atleast try to make it good. But no, be more like Sonic 06, cause the realisticish people is what was right with that game, sure...

Dumbasses.

If he's only serving as an executive producer then he's not helming it.

Anyway, this sounds awful and I only hope it fails before it gets into production.

I am more interested in Nintendo's own movies that will come in the future, especially a Mario one.

CGI/live-action being combined was dubious enough. Having someone from Deadpool is just a nail in the coffin.

Then again, it WOULD be free of dick jokes since Sonic's naked anyway, so there is that I guess.

I sense something...It feels like a surge in the Rule 34 force. As if thousands of porn artists were suddenly struck with inspiration.

Executive producer means almost nothing. Miller is talented, but the meaningful roles (writers, director) are going to incompetents. This will not end well.

P.S. Thanks

And 2016 continues to mostly suck.
Sonic, the worst thing to happen in furry fandom, is getting a movie.
He already had one in the 90s, which honestly wasn't all that bad. He's also had three cartoons (two of which were dumb, one of which was actually really good) and has the longest running video-game based comic book series.

Honestly, I dont think a Sonic movie would be that difficult at all. That Sony chooses to make it difficult is on them. But an action-comedy Sonic movie would be something Id go see. Id prefer it with traditional animation, but I could tolerate a CGI one. Hell, my only issue with Sonic BOOM (the show) is how trivial it is and how awful Knuckles and whats her face are. Robotnik in it is pretty funny though.

Hell, if I was making the movie, Id probably have it start light, Robotnik getting thwarted a few times by Sonic, then he decides to make Metal Sonic, Metal Sonic gets out of control, drama, action, cheesy emotions of friendship at the end, roll credits. After credits have Robotnik find Shadow in stasis for sequel bait.

The first one wasn't bad at all. I like your idea, but having it start with Sonic thwarting Robotnik and have him build Metal after just one on-screen fail might be better for pacing. Start out with a quick action scene leading to a big battle against something like the end boss of Sonic 2, then cut to a defeated Robotnik building Metal. Metal revolts after defeating Sonic, forcing Sonic and Robotnik to cooperate to take down the greater threat leading to a showdown of Super Sonic vs an upgraded Metal.
And with Crush 40 music too, because their music was the best part of the recent Sonic games.

Was just a vague general fan idea that wont matter cause these companies would never consider asking the people who's money they are after what they want.

But if they are looking for someone to write the film, Im not doing anything. :p

Don't worry, they'll fuck it up by making it MUCH more complicated than it needs to be. It will be just like the Mario movie, instead of just being "Plumber rescues princess from dragon turtle" they added in inter-dimensional rifts and de-evolution Super Scopes. They just need to have Sonic run through some hazards, fight Robotnik, and then possibly rescue Amy/Tails/Sally/Marmaduke/Leonard Nimoy in the process.

Oh look.. Sonys next big fuck up project...

What are they gonna call people who dont want to watch their crap this time? Sonmyginists? CGImyginists?

What is it with Sony and funding the most horrible movie ideas time and time again...

Im surprised they havent hired Uwe Boll at this point in time cause their track record of the last couple of years is less entertaining then the garbage that guy produced... atleast in his case we got some fun "angry reviewer" videos out of it.

The plots for some of the Sonic games based after 4:
  • Adventure: Eggman finds a creature made of energy hidden inside the Master Emerald, a mentally retarded character chases after his pet who is possessed by said creature, a robot gains sentience after having a little chat with a prisoner, and the creature previously mentioned has been fueling itself on pure hatred for hundreds of years.

Adventure 2: An amnesiac (Who was created as a cure by making a deal with the devil) seeks revenge for the murder of his closest friend and teams up with the grandson of his creator and a bat who works for the President

Heroes: The robotic rival of the series titular character overthrows (And then pretends to be) his creator and threatens to take over the world and finally show his rival who's the best one of them all. Also, said robot thinks it's a smart idea to bring his rival's friends all to the same place.

Rush: A princess from another dimension chases after a mad scientist and is led around the world by a 10 year old who also teaches the princess about the beauties of friendship and how she should open her heart [http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5zoj2_open-your-heart-by-crush-40-main-th_videogames].

'06: A girl cannot cry without causing the apocalypse to happen. (Strangely enough I've never actually looked up '06's story despite being a big Sonic fan, guess I never really cared that much about it)

Unleashed: The world is breaking apart causing an early occurrence of the rebirth cycle the planet goes through every hundreds of thousands of years where light and dark energy battle it out.

Generations: Two hedgehogs run their little bums off to return color and life to the world in hopes of fixing the messed up timeline.

I think it would be more out of place to have the story just be good old "Sonic VS. Robotnik" without something crazy going on. Granted, though, the crazyness has been a bit more contained.

I think jontron had a pretty good idea what was going on at Team sonic when they came up with most of that stuff.

Hey, I actually liked Sonic R. It's not as good as Riders, but it is still much better than Drift.
