That game would sell millions.I'm pretty sure if they released a game and flatly told people "we have designed this game so that it is actually not possible to beat the first level" the hardest of the hardcore would still buy it just to try and prove the developers wrong.
Heheh.Hazy said:I agree, it's a shame. Have you thought of importing it?AfterAscon said:Its kind of patronising that they haven't release it over yet. I'd imagine they didn't have high hopes for Demon's Souls because they didn't think the US audience would like it. Yet not releasing in europe means that they thought we would have less receptive to it, this is also considering the PS3 is supposed to be doing better in Europe than NA.Hazy said:And by what do you mean of that, kind sir?AfterAscon said:Now they just need to release it in Europe so us 'civilised' people can play it.
It just seems a bit silly to me missing out on this market.
It may be pricey, yet it's well worth it.
I'm not a fan of importing. Some quick research idcates it may come out soon and I'm happy to wait. I've got a few other games and work to keep my busy until then.Hazy said:I agree, it's a shame. Why are people so obsessed with sequels? Why can't a good game come out, people appreciate it, and then move on? Shadow of the Colossus didn't have a sequel (it was a spiritual successor to Ico, sure). But that's an old game. The industry seems intent on milking the crap out of something the moment they realise people like it and will buy it.Fayathon said:I'm a little surprised that they estimated so low on their sales of Demon's Souls, I loved it, even when it was handing my ass to me on a silver platter. That said I'm really looking forward to its sequel, I'll definitely be snagging a copy.
I am probably insane, but im damn sure i saw a copy of this game in DublinHazy said:I agree, it's a shame. I'm not obsessed with sequels, but I have seen rumor that there is another in the works and I am looking forward to it, that said, I wouldn't be offended if there wasn't another Demon's Souls, it stands just fine on its own.Mr. Mike said:Why are people so obsessed with sequels? In this day and age where numerous things can be added through simple patches, why do we really even need sequels?
Nonetheless, good work From Software, you really created an awesome game. Did Atlus even have to do much? The Asian version was already in English (sometimes Engrish) and had the English voiceovers. Oh well, they still introduced it to many now-happy gamers.
Even after my little spiel, I too will admit that another Demon's Souls would be excellent. However, it's the fact that this has become the norm for AAA games these days. Every game these days is EXPECTED to have a sequel. It's preposterous.Fayathon said:I'm not obsessed with sequels, but I have seen rumor that there is another in the works and I am looking forward to it, that said, I wouldn't be offended if there wasn't another Demon's Souls, it stands just fine on its own.Mr. Mike said:Why are people so obsessed with sequels?
