Tbh, it really wasn't THAT hard. Sure, you absolutely can never go through some levels without Soul grinding up like 10 levels, but it just takes time. Time and difficulty should never go hand in hand.

like the 10,000 kills trophy for Resistance 2, a lot of people say its a hard acheivement to get, but its not HARD, killing is easy online, its killing 10,000 times thats time consuming.

Uhm, planning to sell 75,000 copies of a game doesn't sound right. At $60 per game, that makes 4.5 million $

I thought games cost more than that to make, am I wrong?

This sounds like an attempt to trick people into thinking the game is better than it is.
Oh no doubt it cost much more than that to MAKE. Fortunately, Atlus didn't have to worry about making the game. They just localized it.

Also, Demon's Souls IS apparently going to be published in Europe. Courtesy of Namco Bandai.

Good. It's probably the best game of the current generation, it deserves to sell well

I hope they release it across the pond so it can humiliate a whole new continent of gamers

Why are people so obsessed with sequels? Why can't a good game come out, people appreciate it, and then move on? Shadow of the Colossus didn't have a sequel (it was a spiritual successor to Ico, sure). But that's an old game. The industry seems intent on milking the crap out of something the moment they realise people like it and will buy it.

In this day and age where numerous things can be added through simple patches, why do we really even need sequels?
That's a good point. They start working on a sequel as soon as their game has gotten popular, instead of improving on it. Wasn't there a time when a sequel was an improved version of the original? If they didn't start working on a sequel the same year their game was released, maybe then they'd know from feedback what to improve on. Most sequels today might as well have been an expansion, instead of spending time on updating the graphics and change a few things here and there.
It's really a shame with all the impressive engines that are out there, they make one game with it, and start working on the next engine (The Source engine being the only real exception). I'd love to see some more games using the CryEngine, or Red Faction Guerilla's.

great i'm glad. now maybe japan will stop dumbing down games for north america. what they did to that final fantasy boss in 11 was brutal, and it was only because the guild that went to fight it were weak twits

I can't begin to describe how happy I am after reading this. Please give us a sequel, for both consoles.

Well that's due to the graphics race. Reviewers put some much emphasis on graphics, and scores can be lowered greatly due to graphics. Developers know a lot of people consult a couple of review sites before making their purchase. If they don't appeal to the reviewer's insatiable lust for graphics, they get a lower score and less people buy their game. Thank God Valve's going against that grain with the Source Engine.

Demons Souls is fucking awesome. I wish they made more 'hardcore difficult' games, since thats the main trait i look for in a game these days.
