Well I think that's being a little unfair to CoD. Any difficulty above recruit and your going to get your ass kicked if all you do is spray and pray.
Well, to be honest, if you play it above recruit, your going to die multiple times through any level of any game post COD4 (from my experience with W2W and on), no matter how careful and tacticle you try to play. The higher the difficulty, the quicker you die, as in the enemies dont even need to shoot at you, they point their guns at you and you have red jam in your face.

The tooltip read "Deus Ex: Human Revolution Dev Says Running and Gunning Won", had me worried there for a second.

Huh. Same here. There was a moment of dismay there, all right.

Good, 'cause I plan to use the minimal amount of combat (not a no-kill run, but avoid combat when I can).

Still need to play through the old Deus Ex games, and with the game barely 2 weeks away, I've got to get past that first level ASAP

I'm trying very hard not to spend much right now because I'm strapped for cash but... dammit I want to play this game! I need something to tide me over until Mass Effect 3 comes out.

Well, I'm a little disappointed. I really wanted to play a powerful juggernaut who could pull people through walls and punch them several feet, but if I have to play it tactically and slip around and isolate I will. As long as I get to pull someone through a freaking wall this game can do no wrong with me.

CHORTLE. Anything can be solved with running and gunning. With the right biomods you should, in theory, be able to tackle any situation you wish however you wish. In the original Deus Ex, you could've pumped points into sneaky security and water breathing to swim around opposition and hack turrets, or you could pump those points into mastery of assault rifles and big guns, effectively making yourself a walking tank in conjunction with biomods like healing. While it didn't encourage direct combat in this way, it was still a possibility. Deus Ex was never about upfront confrontation and i dearly hope that's what the developer is trying to get across, rather than "Instead of building the character and dealing with situations the way you want we're forcing the player to behave like a juiced-up Sam Fisher".

That or ninja shivs alien/ humans. I went for the latter mostly. Twas a fun game though.
Also, the in the leak sneaking everywhere was a ball. The police station will probably smell like death a couple days later though, if you catch my drift. Or not since I think I knocked them out.
I hid their bodies in the ventilation system.

Not in the "I am made of glue and will stick to walls" sense. You can hide behind objects, but it's never really all that necessary if you play your cards right.

Considering that the most fun could be had out of the original games by finding the most contrived and ridiculous way to solve the situation (even situations in which running and gunning was probably the more practical and shorter way to success), this game better live up to those expectations...

let's just say that in time, such flights of fancy led to pure art

Wow, I don't even own a next generation console that's not Atlus-related and I still feel like I should be excited for it.
