In case anyone missed it, Devolver Digital heled their own E3 show once again this year. Ever since their e3 2017 show, I have always looked forward to see what was in store for each year. And just like with previous years, the show has left me with wonders.

The DD staff has killed with once again with the skits, and there was not a single moment that I wasn't smiling. Seriously, how tf did they get Shuhei Yoshida and Phill Spencer to get in on this?

As for the games they showed, here is the ist in the order of appearance and my thoughts

Shadow Warrior 3
In case you aren't the fan of the series, it looks like this will be DD's (no inuendo intended) take on Doom's chaotic unconventional fps with guns, swords, grappling hook, and tons of execution. It looks super fun

Fall Guys, released date for August 4th
I have been following this game since its announcement at E3 2019, and have been dying to play this. I could've sworn they said this was a 100-player obstacle course race and now they are saying its 60-players, but I digress, the game looks amazing

Carrion, released date for July 23rd
Just like with Fall guys, I have been following this game for quite some time. The concept of playing as a virus-like bioweapon sounds like an awesome concept. In fact, there's demo available on Steam. If you are into sci-fi and/or horror game, then I'd gurantee you'll like this game as well

Olinja
It looks to be and 8-bit 2d sidescroller, with emphasis on using magic harpoon as a weapon and to solve puzzles. There's demo for this game as well on steam.

Serious Sam 4
Looks Dope.

Devolver Expo
10/10. Free to play on Steam

Overall....
Maybe it's beacause the last show I watched were EA Play, but I ended up enjoying this one a lot. No push for political agenda, humors that actually work, and most importantly, games that look super fun to play. Well done Devolver, and see you next year!

I saw it, and most of the skits made me laugh enough, but some of them dragged a little longer than they should. I mainly watched this for Shadow Warrior 3. I was not expecting Serious Sam 4 to be on the direct. Finally, some footage after being announced back in 2018. My only problem with SS4 is they're still doing the realistic art style with the semi-dull color palette. Generation 7 ended already Crowteam. Your game does not have to look like Overwatch or Splatoon, but even your older Serious Sam games had more color than this or BFE. Gameplau wise, it looks good. Hopefully, they don't make the same mistakes as they did with BFE.

The reason for that is probably because Serious Sam 2 was so poorly received and it was super colorful.

But yeah the Devolver Digital event thing is really cool, I need to play through it again since for the first 2 trailers, I didn't realize you only get achievements if you watch till they end on their own.

I already knew about that. Serious Sam 2 has some issues, but color palette was the least of my problems. You know something is wrong when the First and Second Encounter are more colorful than BFE. BFE was just alright and looks like a game with assests that were meant for a realistic military shooter that never came through. So Crowteam just went ahead, took the assets, and made a Serious Sam 3. This the case from what I have heard. The fact that SS2 is not in the Serious Sam HD Collection I find hurtful and speaks how much Crowteam dislikes it. At least my man Civvie gave SS2 some love.

As I understand not only did serious sam 2 flop, it flopped hard. So I can see why they would ignore it for a remaster. From what I'e heard that is what happened, they were working on a military shooter for someone, the deal fell through, they used the assets for Serious Sam BFE. I liked Serious Sam BFE, it had problems, but I enjoyed it, especially once it really started with the hordes. But, it did really need a give all ammo backpack.
