Diablo 3's Biggest Patch Since RoS Launches Today

The game's biggest patch since the Reaper of Souls expansion adds a new zone, new set dungeons, and dozens of new items.

Back at BlizzCon last year, Blizzard revealed a new zone [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/14949-BlizzCon-Diablo-3-patch-2-4-and-Season-5-Everything-We-Know], new "set dungeons", and over fifty new legendary and set items.

Other new features for those of you who are bored at "endgame" include the ability to "empower" rifts with gold, giving you an extra chance to upgrade a legendary gem, and a new Kannai's cube recipe that consumes legendary gems in order to buff up the stats on your ancient legendary items.

There are also countless balance and minor changes that are too numerous to list here, so be sure to check out the full patch notes from Blizzard [http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/19998542/patch-240-now-live-1-12-2016] to find out what is in store for your class of choice.

The fine folks over at Diablo Fans have also put together quite an the new patch's most popular builds [http://www.diablofans.com/news/48615-patch-2-4-roundup].

Just as an FYI, though the new patch has launched today, Season 5 won't start until January 15, so you'll have a bit of time to tinker around with builds before diving into the new season. It's also worth noting that none of the new items added in the patch are season-exclusive, meaning you'll be able to get your hands on all of the new goodies no matter what your playstyle.

Can't wait for the new season to start, it will begin RIGHT after I finish my exams so I can get right into a Monk character and start punching things to death <3

I don't get it, this type of update would usually be called a DLC, but in Diablo it's just a free patch... Blizzard sure loves it's fans

If they love me so much why haven't they fixed some of the achievements on Xbox One. I have 4 lvl 70 but have yet to see the appropriate achievement pop up.

Still, thanks for all the free cool stuff Blizzard.
