Argh...

When I was calculating the build results, I made a mistake. I didn't notice the fleet in Bar. The program I use has just informed me that England needs to disband one unit, instead of there being no change.

That'll teach me for trying to speed things up by merging the retreat and build phases.

Unless I get a disbandment order from England really, really fast, the results should be up sometime tomorrow (good lord, am I an optimist). Chomesuke's profile says that he was last on earlier today, so that means either he hasn't left yet or he's getting internet in Greece. I'm not exactly sure which. Nevertheless, it means he can send me a disbandment order.

Delays, delays...the next game I run, I think, won't rely so much on seven different people sending me messages on a regular basis.

EDIT: In the meantime, here's the retreat map.

A Swe retreated to Norway, A Sev disbanded.

This is a good thing!

Finally, I can post the results of the 1905 build phase.

BUILDS 1905

France: build F Bre
Germany: build A Kie, A Bur, A Mun
Turkey: build F Smy
Russia: disband A Mos, F Lvn
England: disband A Nor

Chomesuke is going to Greece today, and his replacement has yet to contact me. As soon as he does, I shall tell you who he is and set a deadline for the next orders.

I'm hoping it won't take too long.

Huh.

Chomesuke sent me in orders in the five minutes that he was online earlier today. So I have orders for England from the guy who I thought wouldn't be able to send me orders. Happy days!

So I can set a deadline for the rest of you. Let's say Thursday, because you've already had a few days to plan and plot with each other without a deadline.

So is chromesuke still England or is there someone else we should contact? I'm confused.

Well, I was waiting for the new England to contact me. But then I got a message from Chomesuke saying "Quick! I've got five minutes online, here's some orders!" or words to that effect. So I'll be using those orders for this turn.

Negotiations with England might be difficult.

Well, that solves that problem.

I do so enjoy it when difficulties go away on their own.

aw indeed. I never expected this I can tell you. I've played enough games of Diplomacy to determine almost any eventuality (to a certain extent), but this was just incredible.
Oh? I had an inkling this game was a bit wonky but is it really that bizarre? If so, how?

*Sigh* well, thanks for the betrayal Saskwach, and if anyone else drops out, I'd be happy to take their place, just so that I could ravage the living SHIT out of Turkey, screw you!

Yeah...that's why it would be a bad idea for the same person to control so many countries in one game. Old grudges linger. I only did it with Russia because I didn't have much of a choice.

*sees Spartan fuming*
Ummm, Zem? If BoVinE suddenly needs to drop from the game could you not put Spartan in charge? I'm worried he'd drop everything - even defence of the homeland - just to rip me a new one.

But the Turkish offensive into Austria-Hungary wasn't that unexpected, after all Turkey has already attacked Russia.
No comment on the rest, but I'll say that I'm just kicking myself for holding off the attack on A-H for so long. Big mistake IMO. I had my reasons but they were all bad ones. (Sorry, by the way, Armitage.)

Edit: One question: why is England, Germany and Turkey attacking on the same turn improbable? Surely those three powers' interests are just as likely to coincide on the same turn as any others? I'm interested to hear an explanation.

What I find interesting more than the fact that you got betrayed when you left a home territory open was that England is in dire need of territories but actually supported Turkey in.

Chomesuke understands he's screwed, I'm pretty sure he's not even trying anymore. Then again, neither am I.

Believe I know that I am screwed, france won't help me even if it was the only way he could survive. but unlike spartan I have decided that I could at least die a usefull death, and am trying my hardest to grant turkey as much of the CP's he can get.

I'm sorry spartan but we are both doomed, so why don't we create a monster that can stand up againt that little festering cow...I mean BoVinE.

And for my first game over my only objective was not to crash last, and that is already achieved.

Turkey - 12 (11 units)
Germany - 11
France - 6
England - 3
Austria - 2

I'm thinking the spread is going to turn out like this after fall is over.

Oh no, don't blame me for the betrayal that turn, I saw your orders, I just got the better end of the deal. :D

By the way, Zem, should the winner run the following game, or the people who offered to run it?

I'll sort that out at the end of the game.
