Disney Princesses Meet Warcraft In This Fan Art Mash-Up

DeviantArt's LiberLibelua has shown us what Disney Princesses might look like from Warcraft's Azeroth.

The past year has been inspirational for artists who specialize in Disney mash-ups. We've seen the Disney Princesses as <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/129759-Disney-Princesses-Revamped-With-Final-Fantasy-Job-Classes>Final Fantasy job classes, <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/136014-Disney-Princesses-as-Avatar-The-Last-Airbender-Characters>Avatar: The Last Airbender characters, and even <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133192-Fan-Art-Puts-Disney-Characters-in-a-Zombie-Apocalypse>zombie apocalypse survivors. But we simply still haven't hit the roof on these, which is why we can introduce a Disney mash-up with one of the most recognizable game franchises: Warcraft.

Designed by DeviantArt's LiberLibelua, these "Disney Meets Warcraft" pieces introduce versions of the Princesses from the fantasy-inspired Azeroth. Snow White, for example, is now a Dwarf from Forjaz. Ariel is a curious Gnome. Cinderella is a Draenei. Beauty and the Beast's Belle is a Pandaren. Even Mulan is here, as an Orc fighting for the Horde. And the reinterpretations keep on coming.

LiberLibelua's work covers classic and modern Disney Princesses, and shows a good eye for getting to the essence of each character. I imagine these are the races each Princess would pick <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133740-Artist-Envisions-Disney-Princesses-as-Dungeons-Dragons-Players>when they get together to play tabletop RPGs, since playing MMOs at computer screens isn't a dynamic image. Although given the talents of fan artists out there, it's possible someone will prove me wrong on that score very soon.

That Draenei at the beginning is supposed to be Cinderella? I honestly don't see the resemblance. The rest I could see pretty much right off the bat, but outside of the hair being the same style, I just don't see Cinderella in that Draenei. Awesome set, though. I love some of the little touches, like how Mulan's shoulder pads are modeled to be Mushu, or Aurora carrying the needle that put her to sleep.

What's this! Characters from one franchise dressed up as characters from a different one? Inconceivable!!! It's so brilliant I can't believe I've never seen it a thousand times before!

I know stuff like this has been done before, but I enjoy them anyway.

But if you're still annoyed by the concept... perhaps this will make you laugh:

I am quite fond of these but my only complaint is that I feel a few character's personalities do not match up with their assigned race.

Man, as a Warcraft and Disney fan I literally couldn't care less that someone made some not even that amazing crossover art. What is the obsession with Disney princesses anyway?

What is it with this Disney princess crossover trend? I get that they are easily recognisable characters, and the art is often very good, but I just don't get the fascination.

Is #6 or #14 the one from "Hunchback of Notre Dame"? And who is the one who is not that one?
I don't recognize #1 or #10, but I admit there are a lot of Disney movies I haven't seen.

Do people on deviantart do anything other than re-imaginings of Disney Princesses?

Not that they aren't a bit of fun but seriously is nothing other than Disney Princesses culturally ubiquitous enough for people to appreciate the changes?

They're both Esmeralda, just different costumes.
I think 1 is Cinderella (possibly) and 10 is Elsa from Frozen.

Why is this news? This has been done to death, this is not news. Go on deviantart, pixiv or r34 and you will see a million of crossover of Disney princess and non princesses and everything else.

And lets not even talk about how this art is on the lower level of skill compared to the many other. If you want to give free publicity to someone, then give it to someone who actually draws really well.

Why Disney Princesses? Why not princesses from other stuff, like-

This is so cool. You guys should do more of these. My only complaint is where is the love for Leia? She's a Disney Princess now too! "Technically" still totally counts!

Huh, she is, yeah.

At this rate, the Escapist is going to be remembered as "that place with all the sexism arguments and Disney Princesses".

Alright, thanks.
I should probably get around to watching Frozen, it seems like "The Internet" is obsessed with it.
