There's no reason for any more movies.

Not one single reason.

They should stop.

Ughh...
I really liked the first movie. It was clever, funny, adventurous, and had some spectacular moments.

The second and third are worth passing up.

I have to wonder if there's any chance of salvaging the series. I think not.

No it wasn't. There is nothing in 1 that foreshadows 2 and 3. Orlando lifts curse, Jack gets his ship back. No Squidward in the last 2 seconds before the credits, and the compass does nothing in the first one except make Jack look crazy.

you got me there, but still. I mean, topping a skeleton army is less hard than topping an army of fish-people and the sea godess.

I dunno, my main gripe with the first one was that it was too long and too complicated.

There was some good stuff in there though.

I find it hard to take any of the other movies seriously besides the first one. Everything just seemed so radically out of place and well... lacked the original "pirate" theme and turned out bad.

I'll go see the fourth just to see how it turned out, but if it's anything like the second or third, then I'm going to end up ignoring 5 and 6

I mean... come on, 6 Pirate movies? I'm pretty sure the only one who pulled this off was Lucas, and even then his prequels were.... not that great

Where else could they possibly go with this series they already went to the far east, the pirate council thing, Treasure island, dealt with the Dutchmen and The East India company. Really unless they go back in time to a earlier era of piracy I dont see what could possibly written about.

Damn it, the film perfectly ended in At Worlds End, why the bugger would they make another one (let alone three additional films)?

Nothing good will come of this. There has never been a good "Part 5" film, EVER. And name ONE film series that was still even marginally good in its Sixth sequel.

This will be terrible. There will be thrown up pop-corn/gummi-bears in the aisle in my multiplex. Please do not slip on it.

THIS! THIS! A BILLION TIMES THIS!!! What is wrong with you, Disney? Is there something that turns you on about beating a pile of sawdust that used to be a pile of bones that used to be a rotting and decaying horse that at one point you could consider to be 'dead?'

Ugh... Prepare for this to make 5x profit of its budget of one billion dollars.

Well, you probably already know this, but it wasn't built as a trilogy, but as a single, awesome movie, that was sort of ruined by the sequels

The 4th movie doesn't even have Keira or Orlando in it.
Personally speaking that doesn't bother me, the only essential (and therefore indesposable) character for me in this series is Captain Jack Sparrow, he is the only reason I'm a fan of the series in the first place.

One thing I'm hoping we will get in the 4th film is a fight scene between Barbosa and Blackbeard accompanied with some good dialouge between the two. I can imagine seeing them in the same room could be quite entertaining.

I'm trying to summon up the righteous indignation, but heck, I just can't do it. What can I say? I loved the first three Pirates movies! The first one was a modern classic, and the last two, while significantly less masterful, were extremely entertaining. Come on, now, be honest; who didn't think the Brethren Court scene in At World's End was the coolest thing ever?

Pirates 4, 5 and 6 won't top Black Pearl, but there's not a doubt in my mind that they'll be fun to watch.

There's a fourth Pirates of the Carribean film? Did it have any advertising?

Meh, the third Pirates film was inadequate, the second was moderate - if a little confusing, and the first was perfect.

Uhh, the 3rd movie was the best one in my opinion. I've seen it 50+ times (damn you Starz for having back to back weekend showings!) It's the funniest one of the three, and I think it ended quite right. That being said, I don't think there should be a 4th, 5th or 6th. As much as I like the idea of Johnny Depp and his silly shenanigans in the Pirates trilogy, I agree with Celtic Kerr and Latinidiot that you just can't top the last two villians without going overboard (no pun intended).
