I respectfully disagree. The entire plot of the game revolves around a sword with a piece of materia embedded in it's hilt (the game's description, not mine). Materia is something the exists only in the world of Final Fantasy VII. That makes Ehrgeiz a Final Fantasy game, as far as I'm concerned.-Seraph- said:That wasn't even a final fantasy fighting game. That was just a fighting game with FF characters as bonuses. This game stomps Ehrgeiz into dust and is actually well executed. The amount of negativity on this thread with the "it's from square so it must be shit" and "crappy fan service hur hur" is getting annoying. Is it that hard to fathom that it could be fan service done right? Play the game, you'll be surprised.Space Spoons said:The best Final Fantasy fighting game is, and always will be, Ehrgeiz. Anything else is simply second rate.
I have played Dissidia. I'll be honest with you, I was really psyched for it. I was disappointed. See, it's not really a bad game in general, but it's not much of a fighting game. Everything about the combat feels like it belongs in a traditional RPG. It's sloppy, floaty and strange. Again, these aren't gamebreakers, and if you're looking for a fun game loaded with fanservice, Dissidia will serve you well.
As a fighting game, though, it's still second rate when compared to Ehrgeiz.
