I agree with OnyxOblivion, unfortunately. I truly wish they'd stop working on DLC, and get cracking on ME3 already... *sigh* Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be getting the "Overlord" DLC...

grumble grumble....I don't approve, but I did like the Kasumi DLC, and the free dude before that. what was his name again? meh, his loyalty mission was fun though, and it had a flamethrower.

anyways, more mass effect is more mass effect. What they need to do is scrap this DLC idea and make it into a full-on expansion.

Bioware and DLC haven't exactly been a good match...

I mean sure, Shale kicked all sorts of ass, but everything else was "meh" at best.

Not sure if I'll get this, depends on the price, but I'm guessing it'll be $5-$10 USD

I didnt bought the first mass effect 1 but i got the 2 and I got dragon age too.
While the games are good the dlc's are a little weak.

So long as the DLC contributes to making the game longer, I'm all for it. If you just want to add some new items or whatnot though without corresponding new missions, then fie on thee - those are my guidelines.

Ergo this news therefore pleases me, as I love me some Mass Effect.

I'm really starting to hate the impact DLC has. Whereas it used to be something that added an extra couple of hours to a beloved game - it's turned into a sadistic tool used to bleed money out of any self-respecting gamer who demands a full story instead of a broken distraction.
Just me?
Perhaps I just complain because I never have enough money to buy DLC - the only DLC I've ever bought were one map pack on COD4 and one map pack on COD5, and the first three fallout DLC's. I've practically fallen into poverty when it comes to buying video games,so every time I see DLC coming out, I die a little inside.
I now have £7.58 saved up for Mass Effect 2. Only 4 months and 2 weeks before I have it!

I don't like DLC's... They are to short for the price I have to pay for them!

shouldn't they ALL be working on ME3?
That would be the best, yes. But they are apparently not...

I knew this was going to happen, and I don't like it.

I'm finding it hard even to find the words here, but I cannot see this as anything else than a huge, ginormous even, mistake. If Kasumi is anything to go by, the DLC will not be free, and thus a lot of people are going to miss out on it. And how does this transfer to ME3? Will there be no desiscions to be made so all those who didn't get the DLC won't be completley screwed over?

Bad Bioware, bad. DLC is good for extra content, but as a continuation of the main plot? So many variables to consider, you'd have to be Einstein and Hawking combined to get it right. I'm losing some of my hope for ME3 being the godsend of gaming now.

Also, this Overlord thing sounds like the most bland and uninteresting thing I've seen in a while. Oh noes, not another rogue VI?! Sigh.
Agreed. After the 2 or 3 rogue AI in the first game, it's kind of a "ugh" feeling at this point. If the DLC is small and free, im game. If it's going to be 15 bucks for an hour or two of gameplay, i wont buy it.

Bioware isn't good with expansions either, the Dragon Age expansions are short and overpriced, hopefully they do better with ME.

And I will say this.. ROCKSTAR HAS DONE DLC RIGHT.
All of the Rockstar GTA IV DLC has been amazing. And Red Dead is going to get 6 coop missions in the first DLC.

Thing is though that there are also books that link all the games together 9They're quite good) so having DLC linking it in isn't a bad thing, I doubt you'll need to have to have the DLC to understand or play the 3rd game, it's probably just a bonus for the die hard fans (like myself).

Wow...

Well let it be known that at least I like this idea.

This seems like a pretty good idea to me, expanded universe is always a good thing, seeing as how I own all of the halo, GoW and ME books already, expanding the story in game through pDLC sounds brilliant, okay some people won't want to buy it, but the argument that not owning it will have a knockon effect to the ME3 game is rather silly, we have already seen that it if you don't import your ME1 character to ME2 the game fills in the blanks for you, it is pretty safe to assume that the same will be done for the people who don't invest in the pDLC for ME2.

I am honestly surprised by how many people are crying out about this...

If the DLC were better priced and a little more fleshed out, sure, but so far I've been mostly unimpressed by what I've seen. This stinks more of EA than Bioware, since the last time they said this sort of thing they pretty much blew it off right up until ME2 was about to come out.

Not sure why everyone is in an uproar about this. It sounds to me like they are finally giving us what we WANT. Everyone complained when the current DLC for ME2 had little story or impact, and now they want to give us DLC that does. Just goes to show how quick gamers can turn on a game or an entire company just because it doesn't meet their expectations. It's DLC. No one is forcing you to buy it, and you aren't missing out on much. If you want to experience the extra story, then F-ing buy it! If not, don't!
