Can we increase the level cap please? My characters are all maxed out before I even finish the main story. What's the poin of playing more if my characters don't get rewarded for their efforts? I want more points!
The level cap is slightly higher if you replay the game with the same character. I think. Or possibly I'm getting mixed up with ME1.

Nope. Caps are 60 for ME 1 and 30 for ME 2, regardless of character played.

I would love a level increase. It would make my post-suicide mission playing actually worth something.

Actually, so would adding in new post-suicide mission dialogue, as well as dialogue for Zaeed and Kasumi (although Zaeed probably won't be in ME 3).

Wow...

Well let it be known that at least I like this idea.

This seems like a pretty good idea to me, expanded universe is always a good thing, seeing as how I own all of the halo, GoW and ME books already, expanding the story in game through pDLC sounds brilliant, okay some people won't want to buy it, but the argument that not owning it will have a knockon effect to the ME3 game is rather silly, we have already seen that it if you don't import your ME1 character to ME2 the game fills in the blanks for you, it is pretty safe to assume that the same will be done for the people who don't invest in the pDLC for ME2.

I am honestly surprised by how many people are crying out about this...
That's all well and good, but what about the people who would actually like to see how the action goes down, or how key elements of the story happened, instead of just blindly accepting it in the next game? I for one don't want to have some guy tell me how awesome helping x do y was, or how z tried to kill a but failed because of b and now that's why Shepard has a new ship.

I think it's a good idea as well, but Bioware is ill equipped to actually provide decent DLC, as they have made none worth their cost.

Not sure why everyone is in an uproar about this. It sounds to me like they are finally giving us what we WANT. Everyone complained when the current DLC for ME2 had little story or impact, and now they want to give us DLC that does. Just goes to show how quick gamers can turn on a game or an entire company just because it doesn't meet their expectations. It's DLC. No one is forcing you to buy it, and you aren't missing out on much. If you want to experience the extra story, then F-ing buy it! If not, don't!
Nuff said I think.

Well that's balls, as I can't get DLC to work on my computer. I still don't have the Zaeed DLC or even the basic stuff you get with the CE version. Some codes got mixed up or something, I don't know.

Oh joy. Looks like I'm not going to know wtfuck is going on when I get into Mass Effect 3, because I sincerely doubt they're going to be so kind as to put the DLC up for free on the Cerberus Network.

For the benefit those who will miss much of the story as I have done in the first ME from a lack of DLC...

Sounds good I guess, but I don't like the idea of being, "Nickled and Dimed", is that the idiom?
Anyway I will most likely buy these DLC's, a few days after release of course, don't want to repeat my attempts at downloading return to Ostigar.

cant shepard die? how will this work?
If your Shepard is dead then it wont. I think thats fair because you have to screw up everything to have that happen.

Hear we go with the DLC shitstorm again. Really though Bioware are milking the hell out of this now.

A DLC that added a post-suicide dialogue step to all companions, as well as provided some story beyond a single mission more would be something I'd play. A sort of expanded version of the mission chains you can find by scanning planets (f.inst the infected production line one). Bonus if it ties in with the next games story.

But really, the first point would be quite nice, if there are any post-suicide DLC on the way. It's really grating to keep playing after, and beyond the comment on your final choice that you get once, they go back to worrying about whether they will live or die in the collector base! Hello? We blew it up, guys. You're safe. Talk about getting back in touch with Oriana or something.

I liked Kasumi, though the lack of interactive dialogue was disappointing in a companion. Zheed is a twat, thoroughly unlikeable to me even when I put the Renegade hat on, and a very shallow character to boot. I've stopped even taking him along on the team. Thankfully, that one was free, or I'd be kicking myself.

Firstly, this is probably going to cost money, which would be a really low move by BioWare.
Yeah I know right? I hate paying developers to make extra content for games. I think all of the Bioware staff should work for free instead, they dont need paying for the extra time and effort they spend on making DLC. It's not like they need to eat or pay bills or anything is it?

As long as they keep their word, I'll be getting every bit of ME2 DLC, just so i can keep playing the game. To be honest I've liked all the DLC for the game so far, with the possible exception of the Firewalker pack. Kasumi DLC was particularly good imo.

I saw this coming a mile away, and didn't pick up Mass Effect 2 for this very reason. Bioware you were really getting somewhere. Then you screwed it all up by getting greedy. Its a shame.

Until game developers can put all of their ideas into a single package, I'm afriad my game buying days are OVER.

FUCK THAT SHIT!

Sorry, don't know what came over me. Actually that's a lie, I know exactly what came over me. I think DLC is the worst form of distribution, and is discriminatory to those of us who don't want to waste our money and effort connecting our gaming consoles to the internet in order to play games.

If this DLC is supposed to be a bridge between Mass Effect 2 and 3, Bioware are effectively denying me access to the game Mass Effect 2 1/2, so now their DLC madness has spread to Bethesda levels in that they deny you almost an entire games worth of content. I can wait Bioware, I can wait until you've actually completed the third game, instead of needing to be fed irritating open ended one off missions to keep my attention in Mass Effect.

I know they feel a need to make embarrassingly large amounts of money, but I always thought Bioware had at least some principles. Hell, even Bungie were above this DLC bullshit. Oh well, time to ignore them til the actual game part of their story rolls around.

Oh, and for good measure.

FUCK BIOWARE, FUCK YOU VERY MUCH

almost exactly this, the fact that games force people to use dlc (game play or COMICS) to get the full story is only going to push people away from the company

BioWare has the habit to suck horribly with small fry DLC. Especially when it's free, they tend to suck even more. The quote "It's free, don't *****" is just totally invalid. When something is even worse than shit itself and the game promotes itself for giving away free DLC, that's a garbage move.

I need a DLC like Awakening. Huge, expansive and a total Wake-Up-Call!
To be fair, the Awakening was a Expansion pack so it is hard to say it that way.

when I first heard about DLC - way back when - I was pretty excited for it since it seemed like an easier way to put out expansions for the game. So far DLC has been pretty lame in my opinion. Mass Effect 2 has been no exception.

If they really do put out a DLC which adds hours to the game, to the plot, and isn't just some slap-dash attempt to make money (like armor packs for instance) I'll definitely be picking this up.
